Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This duffle seems very durable. There's lots of nice features including backpack straps (if you plan to use them), laptop sleeve, two side pockets, and a mesh pocket on the inside. However, I found it to be very stiff, heavy, and cumbersome. The entire duffle comes neatly folded in one of the side pockets but good luck getting it back in there once you've taken it out. The inside partition is a flimsy little pad that has some annoying toggle buttons to secure. I also found some stitching issues with my bag the day I received it so make sure you check the seams of your bag carefully!

Broke within 5 minutes of use

I had this in backpack form and both strap broke with only 3 outfits, a pair of shoes, and a toiletry bag (<10 lbs) the first time I used it. Highly disappointed, wouldn’t recommend.

Could be made better with one minor tweak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was between this bag and the Patagonia black hole in the similar size. After some back and forth, I pulled the trigger on this bag because of the laptop sleeve. I've used this bag for a few camping trips already and plan to use it again tomorrow for a short two night trip. Upon unboxing this bag, I was struck by the beautiful color and the small size it was rolled into (it's own bag!). It was easy to unpack and I love the variety of pockets that are included. The detachable/customizable divider is also great, as it can be put into the bag in a few different ways and laid down for storage, or if it's not needed. This bag is easy to pack, adjusts to size based on how you fill it, and the number of handles on it make it super easy and convenient to pick up and throw around in any number of ways. My only complaint about this bag is that the backpack straps tuck into the top of it, so when it's empty and you're trying to pack it up, the lid forces the whole bag to fall over, rather than sitting flat while you pack.

The Ultimate Duffel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's no question that The North Face makes incredible products, but this bag takes it to the next level. We were preparing for a sailing trip around the BVI and needed a duffel bag. The amazing team at TNF in Charlotte (shout out to Terrell and Alicia) introduced us to the base camp voyager and it was love at first sight. My husband was able to pack a week's worth of clothes and then some. The compartments came in handy when organizing items which was crucial as we were living our of our bags. Even at capacity the bag fit comfortably on both of our backs (I'm 5'3" and he is 6'1"). If you are in the market for a new duffel, this bag is a must.

Minor issue, otherwise great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was torn between this bag and the similarly sized one from Patagonia. After going back and forth, I decided on this one because of the laptop sleeve which I feel would really come in handy. Upon receiving this, I was surprised by how small it can fold up into itself, even with the fairly firm backpack straps. However, I haven't been able to get it back into that shape again, though I'm sure that I could with the help of YouTube. I have taken this on two trips so far and love the variety of ways you can carry it/pick it up, which makes dealing with it super easy. The divider inside is also really great because it is soft and detachable. You can place it in two different locations, or lay it down flat to store it. You can cram this thing full without struggle. The only thing I don't like about this bag is that because the backpack straps tuck into the top of the bag, the top is very heavy and will tip the bag over unless it is completely full. So when you are packing your bag, it is slightly annoying... I wish the straps were on the bottom. Otherwise, great bag!

Loved it so much I bought two more!

Love love love this bag. I considered other options like the original Base Camp and Patagonia but chose this one. It looks so stylish, is pretty easy to hold or wear as a backpack, can be used as plane carry-on, and stacks well with other bags. Looks small but can fit a lot; I've used it for 3-4 day trips. I had a previous edition that I've had for a few years and is holding up great. I even bought a second for myself and another as a gift! Appreciate the new pockets that have been added as well. Definitely high quality and sturdy. Only downside is that it can get a little difficult to hold when heavy but that's only because it can fit so much.

Better than great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect duffle for short trips when you don't want to even hoist a carryon into the overhead bin. Fits easily under the seat in front of you, and it's very lightweight, so it adds very little to the overall weight of what you've packed. Plenty of space inside, including in the various side pockets, for 3 to 5 days' worth of clothes, and the external zipper pouch is great for stowing a laptop but having it close at hand during a flight. Very well made. I used it for a trip to visit my sister and brother-in-law, and my very discriminating, frequent-traveler brother-in-law decided to order one for himself! It basically sold itself!

I love it and I would reccomend it to everyone, even enemies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bag! I use it to travel and it fits perfectly in overhead bins, is comfortable to carry and it doesn't look like I have a turtle shell on my back ready to knock someone over. The only semi downside, but it might be user error, I don't know what to do with the duffle straps when I'm carrying it as a backpack if my bag is very full. I let it hang on the sides, but I got worried it was going to get caught on something so then I attached the straps so that it would be on my back, it wasn't uncomfortable, but I could definitely feel it. Overall it is my favorite back and I absolutely love it! I can't wait to take it on more trips!

Survived Egypt and Peru comfortably

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this bag for 2 week trips through Egypt and Peru. It fit everything with room to spare! The backpack straps are so convenient and it really comfortable to carry around. There were multiple days where we were in between hotels/cities and walked all around town in our bags (my husband has the same one) and were never bothered by them. The two side pockets are roomy, one has all our travel meds/I call it the pharmacy drawer and the other fits one to two pairs of shoes. Highly recommend this for the active travelers or for weekend getaways as well.

Beautiful & comfortable backpack - perfect for trips

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the product, I was in Germany inn January and I bought the green one for me, then we went tonPraga and bought the beige one for my husband... then in Miami the purple one for my daughter. We live between Peru and USA, and I travel a lot to Cusco and many other departments inside Peru... the backpack is beautiful, very comfortable and perfect for all kind of trips BUT the plastic brooch (clasp) are too weak. One y two of my backpackers just broke. Besides that, I love them
