This bag will self destruct after a few years
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this bag and used it for years, but one day the outer coating just fell apart. I contacted customer service and they said that this is expected after many years of use.
The perfect travel bag/carry on
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was on the fence between the base camp M and the 30" rolling thunder... so glad I went with the base camp. Tons of space, carry on, and the side straps help shrink it down when needed. Buy this!
Absolutely love the Base Camp Duffle-M
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Travel back and forth to college and for vacationing.
just buy it. it will outlive you and everyone you know
just took out my 1997 yellow duffel that I had since college to send it to overnight camp with my 11 year old daughter. It was filhty and covered with cobwebs. I threw it in the washer and now my 30 year old duffel bag looks brand new. The whole situation is pretty ridiculous. Im including pics because im sure nobody will believe it. Run, dont walk to buy this darn thing. it will outlive you and everyone you ever met.
but it for life
I own this bag in XS, S & now M. The "updated design" comes with several changes. The zippers now have a TSA lock loop, the side handles of the previous models have been replaced with a conventional duffle style center handle and the mesh pocket that was in the left zipper pocket has been moved to the interior right panel. I love being able to carry it like a regular duffel as well as a backpack but I do wish the side handles were still there. I also would have liked to see the backpack straps finally get a quick release buckle. That said, every basecamp duffel is incredibly tough and worth the price for anyone doing more than pushing luggage between airports & hotels. Definitely a product you buy for life.
Perfect Grab & Go Bag
This bag is a game-changer for anyone needing a versatile travel companion. The ability to cinch down the size makes it adaptable for different loads, whether you're packing light for a weekend trip or stuffing it full for a longer journey. The multiple carrying options-backpack straps, handles, or shoulder strap-add to its convenience, making it comfortable no matter how you prefer to carry it. It easily qualifies as a carry-on but can also hold up well as checked luggage, thanks to its durable build. Whether you're heading to the airport, the gym, or a rugged outdoor trip, this bag gets the job done. A solid choice for grab-and-go travel.
Definitely buying another one
Haven't used the bag yet but it is very spacious and I can't wait to use it for a trip coming up. The only tough choice was deciding which color to go with! (Very unique choices of color.) On a recent trip, I saw someone with it (an older version but still looked brand new) and I had to stop and ask him because I knew I needed it for myself. I plan on getting another one, just haven't decided which size to go with. (When I bought this was one, it was between the medium and the large but I went with the medium because right now I figured I didn't need such a large bag but the medium is still pretty spacious and I am very happy with it.)
Trusty Travel Companion!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a job at an airline and needed a bag that was spacious enough to accommodate clothes and souvenirs from my trips, while also being small enough to use as a carry-on. That plus it needed durability for multiple trips, and it needed to be able to withstand the beating of the TSA bag systems. I've been working for the airline for two years now and this bag has been my trusty travel companion all over the world. It has held up very well, and I appreciate being able to treat it like a backpack, which helps navigating over long distances. It has been the best travel related investment I've made, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again!
Great bag!
After much research, I decided on this duffel bag to use as an oversized carry-on (not fully packed), with space to add items while traveling and check on the way home if needed. I just recently received it, and so far it's great. I like that it has straps on each of 2 sides to sort of compress the bag down, so that the items are packed tight when it isn't full. The bag seems to be very well built. It has one exterior pocket, one zippered interior pocket, and one unzippered interior pocket, which I think is plenty. I haven't traveled with it yet, but have been packing it for an upcoming international trip, and am excited to use it!
The pictures are quite deceiving...
Whether it's day tripping, weekending, or long stretches abroad, this is now my go to bag for all my belongings. When I purchased it online I had never actually seen one up close so I was expecting a flimsy, thin, easily breakable bag. I've been through dozens of bags, many many broken zippers and torn material. This bag is by far the MOST DURABLE BAG OUT THERE. No questions about it. I've been tossing it around on a few trips already and it has not even a scratch on it. Very comfortable to wear as a backpack. Burly straps allow for great comfort when packed full. Overall an outstanding bag for the avid traveler like myself.
