[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The vest has much more to it than I expected. The pockets are deep enough to hold all of your belongings, and someone else's, too. I routinely receive compliments when I wear it, and am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Retro = Relaxed fit?

I’ve had my NF vest since 1996, and it was still serviceable. Yet I wanted a new NF vest that wasn’t nylon, so I was excited that this retro version of the vest I’ve had and loved was available. Trouble is I guess NF assumes retro and relaxed fit go hand in hand. I like this retro NF vest with the four pockets right where I need and want them. I don’t like the feeling of extra material bunching up under the coats and hoodies I wear with me NF vest.

So disappointed in North Face customer service

I would love to be able to give a review on the vest I purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. However, I never received my pkg and North Face would not help me with a refund, credit or anything. They basically said oh well too bad for you but we can't help. I will NEVER buy anything from North Face again and have told all my family and friends about the horrible experience I had and have encouraged them to do the same and instead take their business elsewhere. I really am very disappointed and angry. Expected better from a huge company like North Face.

Don't waste your money

I have a vest for layering during the cold months and for basic warmth in the spring and fall. Extremely disappointing product. I have had two of these and with both items the zipper broke within a few months of Purchasing and the process of having the warranty team investigate the issue and replace or fix the product is a nightmare and takes nearly 2 months. For the money you spend you'd expect a high quality product to last years, but that is not the case. Average quality and not worth the money or hassle.

Great replacement for my 30yo original.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this vest originally when I was in college at UVM in 1992, I used it as an insulation layer under the mountain guide jacket. I wore this vest almost daily for the last 15 years in the fall and winter and it is just showing signs of wear. North Face stopped selling the vest for a few year so was happy to see it back. The new version is true to the old, good quality and fit.

My favorite vest

I've had the 2-tone (Cream/Black) version of this vest for almost 25 years and it's my favorite out of the 20+ vests in my closet. I have always enjoyed the fit, weight, warmth, durability and yes, the number and placement of the pockets. A great business casual look as well as a great layer for skiing, hiking, biking camping and even golf. Glad this is still part of the offering!

One of the BEST vest's out there!!!

I have owned 2 other colors of this vest and finally acquired one in all black. All of them are just the absolute best to wear especially during the early spring and all throughout the fall season. I love that it has a relax cut/fit to it. So, if you decide you want to wear a sweater hoodie instead of a t-shirt hoodie, it won't feel/fit too snug on you.

Great vest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was an early Christmas gift to my son in law and he says it's great. It is comfortable, fits well and allows freedom of movement. I have 8 vests I've used for work and of them 5 are North Face and just like this one. I have 2 that are a bit frayed after 25 years of everyday wearing and they still look pretty good.
