Great all around jacket

Really love this jacket. Pocket layout is great, with enough space for skins, snacks and whatever else the day may need. I've used it ski for some late spring touring and in some absolute downpour rainy walks around the neighborhood and it's kept me dry. In terms of fit, I'm 6'3" and about 215lbs. I bought an XL and the fit is nice, with room for a puffy underneath. If I was doing a ton of technical climbing with a pack or in a harness, I might size up for a little extra wiggle room, but works great for what I need it to do.

Great Fit/Quality: Some Drawbacks

Jacket performs just as intended. So far it is durable and keeps you warm when paired with base layers. I underestimated how little stretch there is so in some positions (hunched back with arms extended forward) the jacket limits mobility. It fits well otherwise which gives me mobility in just about anything else. This jacket works well for snow sports but I'd be a little cautious doing technical climbing it it as you may find yourself limited at times.

Great Fit!

Overall the jacket feels really good and fits comfortability. This is my second shell from OR, the other being a foray 2. In comparison to the foray 2 it is definitely a bit burlier and a tad bit more crinkly. This is a 3l jacket so it's not going to be as soft as something like the foray 2. It feels very similar to a Beta AR in terms of rigidness but with a tad bit softer exterior. The construction is quality and I like the placement of the pockets. When the hood is not over the head I find it sits kind of awkwardly on the back of the neck. Hopefully, as I break the jacket in the hood will lay a bit flatter. I am 5'9 155lbs and the medium fits perfect and leaves plenty of room for layering. I was looking for a "do it all" shell and this fits the bill. I think this jacket will cover all bases for me from hiking to skiing and I can't wait to see how it performs.

A Do-It-All Jacket!

This “do-it-all” gote-tex shell is just what I was looking for! The jacket is cut very well and fits great on an athletic frame. I bought a large, and my measurements are 6ft, 43.5in chest, and 34in waist. It is not too bulky and not too tight. I really like the placement/size of the four exterior pockets. The jacket is very light weight and is ideal for backcountry trips. It should also be durable enough for resort skiing. What I like most about this jacket is that it looks good enough that I will wear it around town during heavy-rain commutes. The hood fits my large helmet without complaint. OR did a great job designing this shell. I tried on many other brands before choosing this shell. Other brands are simply cut too bulky in the waist. I have not had a chance to put the jacket to use, but winter is coming.. My only real complaints are the lack of any interior pockets, and no RECCO reflector.

great jacket for the rain and snow, it's come with me into the woods to cruise timber and to fall down ski slopes and has kept me dry the whole time. So far it has proved to be just as durable as advertised, holding up well against a few bushwacks through greenbriar and blackberry. If you need bombproof rain protection I would keep this product in mind.

I’ve got about 10 days, most of them during storms and this jacket is great so far. Hard shell fabric seems to be durable. No issues with any zippers and the fit of the Large is good for me. I’m 5’ 10”, 185lb athletic build. Fabric isn’t too loud and crinkly either. So far much more pleased than I have been with Helly Hansen new non-pfas fabrics.

Love the jacket

Solid jacket. Love the pocket locations. Put zips are great for air flow. And of course the material is top notch. I use this jacket daily for commuting on my bike in San Francisco’s cold fog. The yellow color is great because it helps me be seen. I also use the jacket for skiing. It’s my perfect hard shell.

I run this for resort snowboarding...love it

6'0", 175lb, 32" waist. I know this is an alpine climbing jacket, but I love it for snowboarding. Fit is money (Size L). Trim but perfect for layering. Little drop tail sort of hem for booty coverage. Double chest pocket is what every snowboarder wants. Don't hesitate, this jacket does it all.

This jacket is really lightweight and compared to all the other competition for goretex jackets I would recommend this one because its material is nice the water beads and keeps you warm and dry no complaints about this jacket and also good for going to the snow.

Great Venting!

I bought this for a trip to the West side of Vancouver Island in February. I have other waterproof Gore-Tex, and this jacket performed better with the more numerous venting options compared to my older items.
