Salomon  X Ultra Alpine Mid GORE-TEX Hiking Boots - Women's

I had a pair of Salomon hikers in the past that lasted about 3 years with regular use. I tried a different popular brand, they lasted less than a year before literally falling apart this past summer while alpine hiking. I returned to Salomon and upgraded from my previous pair, and so far have really enjoyed this pair! Traction is excellent, comfort was immediate, and I doubt I’ll ever stray from owning a Salomon pair of hikers again ! Loving my X Ultra Alpine Mid Gore-Tex beauties😍

I have some foot issues surrounding both my big toe joints to preface, so finding good shoes is usually a struggle for me. I have orthotic insoles that manage the pain at the bottom of my feet. What happened with these shoes is that the mesh-like material that is on the top of the shoes that the laces are tightening/loosening had a lot of extra material that did not fit my foot, although the length of the shoe was perfect. That material started bending/creasing right above my big toe joint (as many shoes do crease there when you walk). But because the material is so stiff and bent in quite a bit it was pressing down on the top of my big toe joint where I already had issues with it one other shoe prior to these doing that. It cause an immense amount of discomfort and pain. I managed to find these sticky pads to insert right in that spot and I can now wear the issues with minimal issues. I think the shoe material there is too abundant leaving too much room to crease and bend and the creasing remains that way now and does not go back to its original form. I’m not sure if this is just an issue with sizing or my feet in particular but I think if there was less material there or even just more support on the inside to not allow the material to crease so deeply it wouldn’t have been an issue. You can see in the photos that I’ve added that the creasing penetrates quite a bit and remains that way in a neutral/relaxed position without even using them

Love these. So confortable from day one. I have a narrow foot and they are great. Love the small lip on the heel which works well with the back strap on snow shoes. Only thing that is not perfect are the laces. They cinch up tight but do not stay tied. Tripple knots only. Need to fix that.

I have only had these a few weeks but break in has been comfortable. Keep in mind this is a pretty stiff sole, good for gravel, rocks etc. I double tie the laces as they come undone all the time.

Very comfortable and true to fit. I just checked reviews to see if anyone else had these useless laces. I lol the answer is yes. They come undone constantly even double knotted.

I hiked in my ultra alpine boots for the first time. They fit great, are much lighter than other boots I've had, and they have good traction.

The boots are comfortable, sturdy and lightweight.
