PEARL iZUMi  Canyon 2.5L WxB Rain Jacket - Men's

We generally love all of the gear we've purchased at REI, but this jacket is a huge disappointment. After less than a year of use, the inner white lining has worn off all around the neck and upper back and front. It looks terrible if the jacket isn't zipped closed, and worse yet, the jacket is not even remotely waterproof. REI should NOT put its good name and reputation behind this product.

Decent jacket, and helped keep me dry, but I didn’t think about the hood when I bought it. It does fit nicely over a helmet, but it doesn’t have a way to cinch the hood for windy conditions. Wore it in windy, wet conditions and wished I had the ability to keep it from blowing off when wearing it over my helmet.

Fits well and true to size. Hood fits over helmet and move with head when turning side to side.

Great jacket for cycling, very dry and pretty warm. Thin and lightweight jacket that did well keeping the rain and road spray off on a 20-mile ride. Docked 1 star because completely baffled by the hood design. Claims to be an over the helmet hood, and it fits over the helmet, but no clasp or tightening mechanism - hood just blows back at anything over 10mph. Nice hood for stopping but I found it useless for riding - maybe I'll add a binder clip or something to keep it in place.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this coat for commuting in light to medium rain. I cross the GWB everyday and we get some serious cross wind effect off the Hudson. First this thing is bright (yellow version), so no vehicle can claim "I just did see you". The fit is very comfortable and the hood tucks nicely under my backpack when not in use. When I do pull it up, it gives additional protection from the elements and keeps the heat inside without getting overly hot. Someone at PI did their homework as the hood lip will reach just over your helmet and stay put for the most part. I think the only way I would improve it is by adding a draw string along the edge. Still, I really like the freedom of motion. Highly recommend.

I recently purchased this jacket and use it to bike to work 4 times a week. It keeps me dry, but the zipper recently fell off while I had it unzipped and I lost it. I need a replacement. Is there a zipper replacement available or repair kit you recommend?

I love the Canyon Jacket! I have a Pearl Izumi Convertible jacket that I also love. When I wanted to add some rain protection with a hood, I came back to Pearl Izumi. I am prepping for a 7 day, 350+ mile ride and want something for those "just in case" weather moments. The fit is great, the jacket is comfortable, and it seems to breathe well. I also like the "to be seen" bright yellow color.

I got it recently for fall 40-50F cold morning rides, and it serves the purpose nicely. The material is thin and compactable. I love the cut of the jacket. It makes you look professional.

Long 100-mile ride over the weekend. Weather forecast was calling for a sunny morning and a rainy afternoon, so I packed this in the shape of a water bottle and threw it in my 2nd bottle cage. Man. . . . did it rain! My legs and hands were wet, but at least by head and torso remained dry and warm. The hood fits over a bike helmet, so that's great too.

Wore the Canyon Rain jacket in the rain today for the first time. It is light, breathable, comfortable fit. No leaks! Also stylish around town. I wore it out on the water. My only improvement would be elastic drawstring in hood. It is big enough to wear over a helmet, but also catches wind and tends to blow off.
