I love the Delta Jacket. I have the Kyanite LT, Kyanite, Proton's, Atoms, vests, and shell's, and they all serve their purpose, BUT the Delta jacket is my favorite. I love how light it is, but still provides warmth, but in a way that feels well regulated - it breathes just the right amount, has a fit that stays close to the body but with a tad bit of room that allows for comfortable range of motion, layers well, and feels sooo comfortable. Overall, it has great functionality, is a pleasure to wear, yet retains a good style I can wear at work or around town. I wear this the most out of my Arc'teryx clothing (I do live in Southern California). I hardly write reviews, but I had to write one about the Delta Jacket

Lightweight nice looking but…
Why is there a pocket inside the jacket? But it’s no closed end. I have already lost things thinking it was in my inside pocket but it fell right through???!
Awesome Mid-Layer
I picked up the Delta Jacket as a light layer for early spring runs and chilly mornings, and it’s exceeded expectations. It’s also been perfect for climbing at higher elevations and works great as a mid-layer in colder temps. Some reviews knock it for being too light, but that’s the point—this jacket shines when you’re active and need breathable, low-bulk insulation. The fabric breathes well, the chin guard adds comfort, and the chest pocket is a nice functional touch. Plus, the Soulsonic blue color looks awesome. Well worth it if you’re using it for what it’s built for.
Genius fleece!
Weight to warmth ratio is amazing for such a lite jacket. The layered fleece pattern holds an impressive amount of body heat. This jacket is obviously not an outer layer for super cold or windy conditions. But as a mid-layer over a long-sleeved tshirt and under a decent shell, you can maintain body heat with activity in cooler to cold conditions. I have been wearing mine since early fall and into our cold midwest pre-winter. All that has been required is a change from an uninsulated shell to insulated to manage the temps from 30s to single digits. I love this jacket!
Not a wow item, just okay
I own a few Arcteryx items, and they all feel amazing worn. I didnt find the same enjoyment from the Delta jacket. In comparison, I found the fit to be a bit too large (it should fit more snug), and I found it, in comparison, more stiff and constricting. I think there are better mid-layers on the market from other brands, including from Arcteryx.
Same name completely different product
I have been buying Arcteryx products for over 10 years and have well over 10 jackets/fleece etc. More specifically, i have two Delta jackets from the previous generation which i love. This one other than the name has nothing in common with the previous generation, it is a different style, fabric is very thin and does not feel like a fleece. I expected much more for the price! I wish that when Arcteryx introduces a completely new product that they would not use an existing name, which can be very misleading.
Need to Revisit the Previous Delta Jacket Specs
I am a long time Arcteryx gear user. In my opinion, the fabric was superior as to comfort for previous generations of the Delta jacket, with pockets. Sleeve length of the size medium was at least 2" longer than the sleeve length of a size medium, superior Kyanite jacket. Body length of the current Delta jacket in a size medium is approximately 3'' longer than the size medium Kyanite jacket. The current version of the Delta jacket seems to be designed for wearers over 6-feet tall.
Looks nice, not very warm.
It is really too bad that Arcteryx designers decided to move away from the warm polartec fabric that they used in the Delta for so many years. It was such a great, versatile product. I have several of the old Delta's in many different colours that I wear constantly, over a tee shirt in the house, when going out for urban activities, and it is a staple when I go hiking. If the temperature drops, I just put an Atom hoody over the old Delta and tee shirt and it is perfect. The new jacket looks nice but it feels too thin and cold on my skin and any body warmth gets removed quickly because it is so permeable to air. There are already lots of thin Arcteryx products for running and other outdoor activities so they needn't have changed this one. Please bring back the old Delta, maybe as a "retro" product. A lot of people would buy it.
great winter hiking fleece
I don't understand all these bad reviews saying it's too light or not warm enough. Well, it is light wight fleece jacket. If you want softshell, get one of Gamma. For more insulations, get Atom, Proton or Kyanite. This does perfect job for what is made for, an active fleece mid layer in cold weather. I would use my Proton FL if it's under 0°F or on very windy day. But this is perfect for uphill winter hiking with Squamish/Gamma SL as backup as well.
