After 30 years loving LOWA Renegades, here’s why Renegade EVO GTX Lo didn’t work for me! 1) The toe bed is longer than in previous Renegade Lo so it bent at my toe-tops - giving me my first corns ever on both my little toes! 2) Wider last; foot swims around in them 3) The Vibram outer sole is flatter at the heal than the slightly rounded heal of the older version 4) The tongue from day 1 slid to the right and impossible to train towards the center 5) And the icing on the cake – cheapo flat laces! Really LOWA?? 6) Additionally, they don’t look as nice as they used to. I called them my ‘clown shoes’. After wearing a pair of Renegade Evo GTX Lo for 1 month while on vacation and doing a lot of walking on mixed easy to moderate coastal terrains, I experienced discomfort in both heals and my left Achilles tendons became inflamed. First time in my life with a swollen Achilles tendon! I bought these just before my vacation because I have always used your shoes right out of the box and never ever ever anticipated such a drastic and negative change to your premiere, longtime, excellent, and legendary product. Even $50 aftermarket insoles didn’t help. LOWA - will you please bring back the old Renegades!!! I used to love your shoes and customer support. I’ve discussed this with your customer support team on the phone.
I’ve been wearing Lowa shoes for more than five years and look forward to March sale to get a new pair. They are the most comfortable walking shoes I’ve ever owned.
The Lowa brand is pricey but so worth it. If you enjoy trekking outdoors but have troublesome feet, these do much of the work that enables me to truly enjoy a long walk in the woods
In what universe does a size 7.5 equal an EU 39 and not a 38? Or an 8.0 a 39.5? How does one choose which chart to follow here -- US or EU? Well, I went with US sizing and lost my gamble. The 7.5 is massive on my lower volume feet; I didn't even bother with the 8.0 option also in my shipping box. Perhaps better communication about the off sizing might save unnecessary shipping costs and product disappointments. Now both are returns with no replacements in my actual size in stock.
