Sturdy stick clip.
The stick is very sturdy. I prefer this fixed attachment over the clips I’ve used in the past that have a moveable wire piece to hold the carabiner gate open. Those always seem to let it snap closed which is a pain.
Pretty ok for lead rope solo
I use this for lead solo. It worked for a little over a year until it broke. BUT… it was because I undid all of the clips and tried to fling it out like a light saber (time saver eh?) anyway, bad idea I suppose. Just extend it by hand. One of the shafts came fully out and I just couldn’t get it to stay back in. I attempted a repair which failed after a week due to the thinness of the aluminum shafts. That all being said… up until it broke, it was pretty sweet. Had to bend the metal forks on the head to fit the big steel biner I use for the bottom anchor which kinda sucked and made clip angles more difficult but I’m pretty sure with the size of the head on the trango, it just wouldn’t work. Not the best design on this one but not the worst. Probably time to go make my own at this point. Nothing seems to be sturdily built.
More stability than the main stickclips available
Much burlier than the Trango stick. Doesnt flop around. Will definitely last longer.
Never received
I never received this item. When I tried to contact REI via their website they mention sometimes it takes 30 days for a lost or undelivered item to appear. I ordered this weeks before Christmas and sadly it is still undelivered without any updates in the website.
