Great, BUT did not hold up to moderate hiking

I purchased these pants less than 6 months ago and absolutely loved them. However, after one trip to Moab in May with regular wear while hiking, they became quite pilled (yes, there was a bit of booty surfing down). I have worn them several times this summer for very light hikes and today I discovered a major (irreparable) tear in the material next to the waistband. I am so disappointed and expected much higher quality from North Face! Otherwise, these capris were exactly what I was looking for - lightweight, tie waistband and a ton of pockets.

I bought these to wear while doing yoga in a hot climate because they would cover my knees. They are great for travel because of all the pockets, including a zippered one. They are very lightweight so good for hot weather.

This is my 3rd pair of these Capri pants. They are great for casual, versatile spring and summer dressing. The olive green looks great with a black or white top. It also hides dirt well! I like the fit: relaxed enough for comfort in the legs and butt, without too much room or bulk in the waist.

I am a volunteer dog walker and bought these for the summer months that I spend walking dogs through trails in the state forest and through open fields. I am a lover of most TNF products and these were no different. I am 5'11" with very thick thighs and I wanted to make sure these were loose and comfy so I sized up. The size up made the waist a bit large but the drawstring works just fine. While they are a bit defined in the butt, there is no pulling or bunching anywhere else. I have big calves and these don't grip tightly at all but I can tighten if I want or need to. They dry quickly, have deep side pockets, wick moisture very well, control odor, provide excellent sun protection and do not make me overheat. They are very durable and have stood up to being jumped on, nipped and drooled on by rowdy shelter dogs, working in a barn and falling on gravel with no rips or tears. They launder well and the material does not make that "swishy" noise (wind breaker material) when you walk the way most active pants do. While I do believe they should be cheaper, I will be purchasing another pair as these will most likely see the most wear this summer and I'd like to have a back up.

I have a similar pair by Northface purchased several years ago that I still wear and have held up really well! This updated style has more gathering on the legs. I wear them in hot weather when I want some coverage but not all the way down to the ankles. Great for hiking, gardening and everyday wear.
