Smartwool  Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer Bottoms - Kids'

I bought these without comparing them to anything else because I trust the smart wool brand. They were expensive but I viewed it as an investment. They attract more hair than I knew we ever had in our home. We pull them out of the wash/ drier and you almost can't see the fabric- where did all this hair come from?! I spent a TON of time with a lint roller and my hands removing hair and almost got them back to new and every time my kids wear them it's right back. My wife's hair? The neighbors cat? A deer in the woods? It seems like if the kids get within 100 yards of anything with hair that hair ends up on these pants. It's gross, I don't understand it. . . but it's just awful.

Bought boys and girls 250 base layer bottoms and tops for my kids ages 4 and 5 1/2. They LOVE it. So warm I can't get them inside (parent win for some quiet time), so cozy they sleep in them (parent win for fewer clothes changes). They've kicked butt in Vermont skiing at Mad River and Nor'easters just north of Boston. Only bad thing is they won't grow with my kids, so I'll be back again next year to size up! But for this year, absolutely fits true to the size chart.

My daughter loves these and wears them as everyday pants in winter with a top, like leggings. Kids constantly go in and out and I think the temperature regulation of wool helps her not be too hot or too cold. She reaches for these a lot and says she loves wearing them and that they are comfortable. They're not tight like leggings, they're a bit looser in the calf and thigh, especially on petite kids. I don't size down, though as the length gets shorter if you do.

I will say to follow the size chart because based on other reviews I thought it would run small but after measuring my 4 year old I chose the equivalent to 3t and my daughter still has a couple inches to grow into. #sweepstakes

SO cozy soft and warm. Bought these for my 3 year old to wear under snow pants. They are warm, soft and excellent, and the only merino wool pants I could find that can go in the washer/dryer. I wish they had more XXS in stock for my 1. 5 year old, and more cute solid colors for girls, including in the quarter zip tops.

The just right thermal for my sensory kid. I have tried everything from the softest danish wool, wool/silk blends, to complete synthetic thermals and Smartwool are the only thermals that feel 'just right' for her. They last for years, and through multiple kids. Just replaced a pair I bought in 2010. Worth every penny!

So far my daughter is super happy about those leggings. She loves the color and how soft they are. She wears them as an additional layer for her ice skating class. But, she also found out that she likes to sleep in them, so they are comfortable for all kinds of activities, at least for her.

I would give them a 5 but the elastic is not strong enough, they fall down under their snow pants after wearing them about an hour. Wardrobe malfunction! Kids won't wear them. They are warm but I think these need a slight redesign. They also stretch out of shape too much.

My son loves being outside, and he had outgrown his merino thermals. We try to buy American made whenever possible, and the fact that these pants are both American made and excellent quality makes them such a great deal. I'll be buying him another set.

I'm 5'1"" so I bought these in size L thinking they'd fit me — They almost do, they're just a little too short. Warm, soft and comfy. Haven't tried washing yet, but so far they've held their shape and haven't stretched out at all.
