Note: This is my 3rd 1/4 zip sweater. Just brought it home without trying it in a M, Grey Foggy Pattern. I also brought one home in Purple which runs large. This sweater in this color is EXTREMELY small. Several inches shorter than either this years sweater in Purple, or last years in Black. Very tight across the chest (I am a 36D so that is an issue). Will need to exchange for either a size L or perhaps this was a mismanufactured item? The inside is clearly stamped 'M'.
Thicker wool. Not itchy. Nice zipper. Fit is similar to past ones with quarter zips that I own. Usually wear medium and that's what fits. 5'4", 135 pounds
Normally, Smartwool has great quality and products. It fits well and I like the style. This pullover does not hit that high mark of quality. I've owned it a few months. The material piles and there are small holes developing in areas that get more contact. It feels like it's falling apart. I've purchased some other merino wool items from other manufactures that have much higher quality for about the same price. I hope Smartwool improves their products.
I've worn this every day since I bought it, with a brief pause for washing. It's super thin and warm, fits nicely under my ski jacket, and is great for freezing weather. I went with the 2X size so it looks nice with t-shirts and jeans/leggings (rather than using it as a thermal). The aqua color is true to the pictures, and I've just ordered the black because I like my first one so much. I'm going to use this for outdoor activities, dog walking, pilates, and general life.
Perfect as base layer or light sweater - keeps me warm, wicks moisture away, does not itch. Also, does not pick up odors.
Very lightweight and warm. I've worn with just tank top underneath my SmartWool 1/4 zip under my puffy jacket and was plenty warm to enjoy a hike or football game on very windy days.
Lovely color and was a perfect layer for my cruise to Alaska. I was at a perfect temp both inside the ship and outside on a zodiac ride.
Absolutely love my Smart Wool Quarter-zip Base Layer!! It is comfortable, performs quite well, and looks nice enough to double as a stand-alone shirt.
Warm base layer, with good fit. Zipper is helpful to avoid over-heating.
