Great buy for middle schooler
I got this backpack because his Hershel Bart Simpson backpack that he’s had for 3 years had one large pocket and didn’t quite meet his needs as a middle schooler. He has to carry a computer, books, clothes for PE, notebooks and supplies. This backpack has so many pockets, he is able to keep his belongings more organized and in better shape. He loves it! My only complaint is that I want more colors or patterns for when we want to get one for my daughter and possibly us too! I love how Hershel backpacks last for YEARS. I’m not kidding. His last one still looks brand new so he uses it for after school programs. We only buy Hershel backpacks when we need a new one.
Great product with slight faults
Overall the Kalso Backpack from the tech line is a great backpack. The back is breathable, and there is more than enough storage space in the various pockets. The only faults I have seen thus far are the following: 1. Poor stitching. While most of the backpack features a strong stitch pattern, I have found several loose stitches and thread throughout the backpack. A simple manufacturers defect that impacts style more than performance. 2. Loose straps. I have had the adjustable straps on this bag slip down a multitude of times since I have purchased. It is more inconvenient than anything, but having to adjust a backpack almost every time one wears it becomes tiring.
Love this backpack
Got this to replace an Everki pack I’d had for 12 years. This one is so much better! Love the gray color, got plenty of room for my stuff and more. Pockets for everything. Love the side zipper in the front- keep my iPad and notebooks in there for easy access. The padded laptop sleeve is nice too. Easily holds my Dell laptop. I’m a big guy so the size doesn’t bother me. Also got the kit bag for my cords and chargers. Great upgrade to my work travel gear!
Probably my favorite bag for travel!
Probably my favorite bag for travel! I can fit my laptop, travel monitor, keyboard, notebook, clothes, dopp kit, water bottle, and all the accessories in a nice and organized manner. I brought just this bag and a surfboard on a month long trip to Mexico and loved it!
Great travel backpack
I’ve used this bag for 3 years now. I fly a lot a couple of times a month for work so it’s been used a lot and I can share it’s but mostly a great experience! Pros: it’s pretty durable and for having been across the country and back and through all kinds of weather, everything functions as it should and the most wear is on the leather logo. It is extremely roomy and fits perfectly under airplane seats. Cons: -The luggage pass through stretched out after about a year so the bag isn’t as snug as it once was. -this one is nit-picky, I realize, but I might recommend some coloring on the inside pockets (even if minor) because it can be hard to find things in the middle pocket when it’s all jet black.
Unicorn Bag
I was looking for what I quickly learned was a unicorn bag. I wanted a seperate laptop section, two zippers on all of the pockets and a suitecase sleeve. This bag checked all my boxes. It is a great size and sleek design. I have been using it on a daily basis for both my corporate job and my part time position as an EMT for 6 months and it still looks brand new. For my 9-5 it holds my work laptop, lunch, notebook, coffee, water, keys, wallet, etc. For my weekend gig I can shove a book, lunchbox with at least 2 meals worth of food, and a jacket in there without much trouble.
This is the Goldilocks of Travel Backpacks!!!
It took me a few tries before landing on this particular travel backpack. I originally owned the 20L Travel Backpack by Herschel, which was excellent but too small in volume for my overall needs (I now use it exclusively for day use, but not for travel). I also previously acquired a travel backpack from another reputable brand, and although it was well-made, its compartments weren't designed to fit my needs and I often found myself frustrated with it. It also wouldn't ever stand up straight and would topple over. This backpack, the Herschel 30L Kaslo Tech is basically a larger version of the 20L Travel Backpack, and with additional improvements including stretchable side pockets and better storage/organization.
Great solid bag but but not good for backpacking
So I bought this bag for Japan. As it had the compartments necessary without having to many that I would lose things within the bag. Solid construction. Only downfall it was super hot in Japan and backpacking through . It absorbed all my sweat from back and into the lap top compartment. Luckily my laptop was fine . But then it soaked through to the main compartment . And for the whole week my cloths were damp nothing could stay dry . I would only use it really traveling from city to city and walking around . Great bag for for cold climate .
A lot of room. Very good material. perfect design
Upgraded my standard Herschel backpack, which was starting to feel like a messy purse in the way that everything was just kind of “thrown in there”. Now everything I have is so organized, with room to spare. Holds my 15” MacBook Pro (in a Hershel computer sleeve), my 16” MacBook Pro, iPad, Sony monitor over my at headphones, several vitamin bottles, large brush, a docking station with a huge power supply, three chargers, large battery, another pair of over the ear headphones, external hard drive, tons of cables, and a midi keyboard. It’s not even halfway full. There is a LOT of room. Only complaint is that the secret headphone compartment is too small for AirPod pro’s with a case on them. It will fit.. but it’s a pain to pull them in and out. Perfect bag.
Solid design, but a bit pricy for what you get
I am really liking this backpack and it’s exactly what I need on work trips, which is great. However, I do feel like the price point is fairly steep for the quality of the fabric, especially considering what else is on the market. For this price, I’d expect a larger backpack. I’d also like to see a more interesting design on the logo patch - it kinda just blends in which is not great because I love the Herschel logo design. Even a simple white patch with black logo would be a huge improvement to my eye.
