Cool radio but reception is not exceptional

Seems to be a fine radio overall, but can't agree that it gets exceptional reception. Based on reviews and the reputation of C.Crane, I was hoping to pull in some AM stations that I get fine in my car but not in the house. No luck. It was only marginally better than other radios I've tried. I've now sprung for the C.Crane Radio 3, which the company specifically touts for its outstanding AM reception, claiming to pull in stations from 300 miles away even in daytime due to its twin coil ferrite antenna. Unlike the Skywave 2, it also has the option of attaching an external AM antenna. Will review that one once it arrives.

C-Crane portable radio

This radio is excellent, whether your desiring something for daily connection in the cabin/house or for travel. I've had this radio for a number of years and used it consistently. It's well worth the money and will keep you connected in times of desire or need.

It works well.

I bought this radio because the current radio at the cabin could not receive/ broadcast but a couple of fm stations. This radio plays dozens of stations and also NOAA stations.
