Great for Cold Weather Runs
I'm generally not a pants or tights wearer when running unless it's super cold, which is rare in the South. However, I picked these up for a difficult100M ultra race because I knew they would be necessary for being out in the cold that long in the dark. These pants did not disappoint. My lower body was never cold in the 20-degree weather. These pants have just the right amount of flex and don't hinder your gait. I'm not a fan of pockets and loops because I wear a vest, but the pockets on these pants weren't obtrusive. I wish they were a bit longer, but this is one set of jogger length pants that actually fit over my large calves. I was not able to put them on at an aid station over my Altra Olympus shoes though. Overall, very comfortable with no chafing during a long stretch of wear.
Great runners but know that they are short
I appreciate Smartwool's line of products. They give real attention to detail and quality. What I didn't realize about these pants (size large) is that they are more of a 3/4 length pant - I'm 6' 1" and the bottom of the pants hit me a couple of inches below mid-calf, so quite a bit shorter than I expected. Other than that, and I can live fine with them being on the short side, they are good quality running pants. Maybe they are intentionally short-legged since they are designed for running.
light and airy
The material on these running pants are high-quality. They’re also very light and out of the way when you’re running I haven’t noticed any chafing. I’m going to buy me another one.
Worth the Price point
Comfy! Warm! Worked well for long outdoor runs in colorado winter before the Sun came up.
Great running pants
By far my favorite pants to run in. Surprisingly warm for how thin and light they are. I feel zero resistance when running in them.
