Amazing

Ok, maybe I have no business buying this super trainer, but, wow. I need stability these are good and I see no issues with the heel- might be nice to have more structure but the shoe works so well!! First fast training run 5 miles- usually I’d do 8s- did 7:30s. Not sure why I’d wear my racing shoes again. The Mach x2 literally pushes you - super springy and propulsive- no sense of lateral instability. I love these!

Nearly perfect for the right person

Many people have an issue with the heel. Fortunately, I don’t. The heel lockdown is tricky, however. For me, the ride, fit, energy return, comfort, stability, weight, breathbility, make this my #1 trainer over basically every top-of-the-line super trainer or otherwise. I stop short of using this for recovery runs, otherwise it’s been excellent for daily training to workouts to speed intervals to half marathon racing. Hopefully, the bad reviews lead to steep discounts because I’d buy again!

Great fit and energy

Bought these a month ago, and after several long training runs and a half marathon can comfortably say this is one of the better fast long distance shoes I have owned. Upper fits like a glove, I did not have any heel rubbing issues even the first run. Energy return is extremely good, feels bouncy and makes you want to fly. Cushion is good. not the most stable shoe cornering but that's expected. Only con is this is a faster shoe, feels like it works against you somewhat on slower (>9min) miles, just don't use it for recovery days

So fun to run in!

My favorite shoe now. It's incredibly bouncey and reactive. Tons of personality and makes me want to run longer. It's incredible uptempo ;below 7min mi) and also feels great cruising at 8:30. The heel issues is easy to solve. And I love how invisible the upper feels. I sized down 1/2 and it's perfect.

99% Perfect, but the 1% ruins it

It’s no mystery that the heel and the upper cause blisters. While I have had no blisters while using good socks with a heel tab, I find it impossible to get a decent lockdown without extremely tight lacing, which destroys the top of my foot or restricts blood flow. I LOVE this sole, so I’ve still been using it to get my money’s worth. It’s unfortunate that Hoka was so close here, but ran into this ubiquitous issue. Do they ever recall defective running shoes?

Super Light And Bouncy.

Definitely A Super Shoe! I am usually put-off by "super-shoes" because of the price and just not convinced they're worth it. After this one was heavily discounted at REI, I jumped at the chance to try it out. I was not disappointed. There is a big caveat with this shoe based on reviews regarding the heel rubbing and causing pain and/or blisters for some runners. I decided to take a chance as I don't ever have problems with shoes rubbing against my heel. Thankfully, it has not bothered me at all. What I got was indeed a super-shoe. Really feels like you're floating and being pushed forward. It makes you want to run faster and does everything to make that easier. Sadly, my lungs couldn't keep up with my legs, but no doubt this shoe is a beast and I will happily wear it out.

Shoes for running

Unfortunately, shoes are poorly made and started wearing out after 2 months of use.

Super Disappointed

Desperately wanted to like this shoe, but the heel support was terrible.
