I love this jacket!

I purchased this jacket in September so I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but I’m really looking forward to winter this year. I’m 5’9” - 155 lbs. I tried a medium but it was a little snug with just a t-shirt so I went with a large so I could wear a fleece under it. I got the Void color and I love the look and feel of the material. I also specifically wanted a chest pocket, which this has. Besides everyday wear I plan on using this under my MH Bombshack shell for cold days on the mountain alpine skiing. If this jacket performs as well as I expect it to this winter I’ll probably add another color later on.

Amazing medium weight jacket!!

This jacket ticks many boxes for me!! I love the medium weight and fit… I can wear it with a t-shirt or several insulating layers and still not feel restricted at all! It breathes incredibly well for its weight and somehow breathes well enough for that difficult time in the morning where the temps go from well below freezing up to 50degrees in less to an an hour… I’m 5’,9” 185lbs and it fits really well! It’s a hit too heavy to use indoors or as a down sweater but the “Lite” version would be perfect for this! Also, the finish is a textured mat that you can see, feel and hear… if you’re hyper-sensitive to those things this is not the finish for you… but the DWS works really well for lite perception…

Tough enough!!! MHW sticks to sizing for all.

Stretchdown is my favorite product. Function is key for my clothing and MHW nailed it. Awesome outer material, durable enough to withstand a 30+ lbs. pack and super agile when using in any activity situation, including flying. This year's colors are awesome and sizing is available for everyone too, from super athletic up to the Large and Fit Club. 6' 0" 245 lbs. and the XL is perfect with a thin-med layer underneath. Favorite 33º F jacket. To MHW, don't change a thing except... give us a synthetic option, inter cuff, and charcoal lined armpits, worth paying up for little-BIG features. Thanks for the real world sizes.

Looks good, terrible quality for $300

Zipper came defective, 10 week warranty turn around time. It's a winter jacket I can't wear for winter. Mountain Hardware used to be my go to brand. EVERY product I have purchased lately has failed, from bags to jackets. Customer service is even worse than Columbia who owns this brand now.

Solid Jacket, Stretch is Unique

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have you ever twisted your torso while wearing a puffy? Felt that fabric strain and almost tear? Have you gotten out of your car and seen feathers stuck to your seat? You won’t have these problems with this jacket. This jacket feels more substantial and heavy, more ready for a beating. If you’re looking for the lightest jacket, this isn’t it. However, if you want a solid, stretchy, warm jacket with room for layers, this is it. I’m 5’9”, 165 and this jacket fits well in length and shoulder width. Arms have a little bit of baggy-ness, but not a ridiculous amount.

The Best Down Jacket I’ve Tried

There are some people that criticize the super ds for being a few ounces more than other down jackets, but forget them. You get a full range of motion, no cold spots, and feel like you’re wrapped in up comfortably in a blanket no matter which way you move around. The fabric feels incredibly premium and more durable than offerings from ArcTeryx or Patagonia and the matte finish is easy on the eyes. The fit is spot on with room for a sweater without being baggy and the adjustment cords are simply perfect. Mountain Hardwear didn’t cut any corners making the best down jacket I’ve ever tried and I can’t for the life of me think of any ways they could possibly improve on the design. Seriously, just try the super DS it’s an absolute no-brainer.

I could not be happier!

I love my new men’s super DS Down jacket purchase! I ordered a medium, used to wear a large, but alas, I have shrunk as age is setting in. It fits like a glove, and stretches with me! I really love this jacket, probably my most favorite jacket I have ever owned, and I don’t pass that endorsement along lightly. It’s warm, blocks the strong winter winds, and weighs next to nothing. I also get compliments regularly about how good it looks. Absolutely no regrets about purchasing this product and recommend it highly if you are in the market.

Hand down the nicest down jacket I've owned.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the stretch-fit feature, I could actually be active and use my arms without the jacket riding up. Then matte-like finish is fantastic and a lot more subtle than the Ghost Whisperer finish, with a soft yet durable feel. Plenty of pockets for everything you'd need to stash away and the chest pocket fits a rather large cellphone, I use the Galaxy S8+ with an OtterBox case so this should fit pretty much any phone on the market. I have yet to be in freezing temps but at low 40s with wind the StretchDown jacket kept me very arm, the seam welded baffles do their job. I would absolutely recommend this jacket after reviewing the Ghost Whisperer as well as options from Patagonia and Arc'teryx I decided to buy the Mountain Hardwear StretchDown Jacket and I do not regret my decision.

Texture and Loft are Impressive

Finally a down jacket that doesn't look like a trash bag. Mountain Hardwear absolutely nailed it on this one. The exterior feel is matted, soft, and durable. Ready to bead water away, and take the beating from stray branches. The loft is perfect! I can midlayer over a snug fleece, and under my rain shell. But my favorite is the fit. I'm 6'0" and bought the Medium, and honestly feels like a second skin, especially with the awesome STRETCH!

A Great Jacket

A great feeling warm jacket! I have a 40" chest, 34" waist, 160 lbs and the medium fits great. Have worn in temps ranging from mid 30s to mid 40s and have been warm with just a cotton long sleeve under it. Love the stretch of the durable fabric and the matte green color. Also, this jacket doesn't have the "marshmallow look" of other downs. Overall, this is the best down jacket I have owned and look forward to years of use.
