This shirt was an amaziningly comfortable shirt. However, it is EXREMEMLY susceptible to pulls, either in a delicate laundry or anywhere near velcro. I discovered this after one week of enjoyment. It's now a wreck.
The Men's Intraknit Thermal Merino Base Layer is the best base layer I've ever owned. I'm a self-proclaimed expert in layering up since I spent a winter living in a log cabin nestled in the Uinta National Forest in northern Utah. This base layer strikes the perfect balance between maintaining body warmth with being breathable so that you don't sweat through it. There's nothing worse than feeling sweat trapped against your skin, when outdoors for extended periods of time. I attended a college football game this weekend with cold temps and a significant wind chill factor, but remained nice and cozy for 5 1/2 hours. Buy this base layer! You will not be disappointed.
Purchased this item for an overseas trip to cooler climate. Love the feel the light weight - will be perfect over a light t-shirt without feeling bulky. Fit is much smaller than normal, and fairly form-fitting - I normally wear a L to XL depending on the shirt/sweater but had to purchase an XXL fit my shoulders/arms comfortably, but length is still great/not too long. The style/look works in a range from casual campsite to dressed up with some jeans/city pants. It's in the "base layer" category so going to fit a bit more snugly than top layer.
Worn it a couple of times including a winter run in 7 degrees F temps. Paired with a light running fleece and was almost too warm. Very comfortable, soft, stretchy. I'm a big fan of the collar zip to help regulate temps but it is really breathable regardless. Nice odor control. The only thing I don't love is the look/style. I wish it were just a plain color or a fun pattern like you get in some of the other base layer options. But, it is a base layer so ultimately I don't care that much. Overall great performance. Definitely on the packing list for a winter backpacking trip in a couple weeks.
I bought this as valentines gift for my partner, now I think it was more for me....he looks so good in it. The design has a bit of character, I joke built in back pre-sweat stain but it took me a little while to actually notice it and I really like the dimension (?) it brings to it - subtle knit difference. He's worn it a few times already, commented more than I've heard about clothes usually. This is definitely on the 'buy in other colors' list.
Form fitting. Warm. Neck not too tight yet snug enough to block wind from going down shirt. Sleeve length on longer side which is better. Nice color.
Soft, warm, comfortable and durable. What more can you ask for. Ideal for layering with the matching bottoms.
Tested on 1 week of shoulder season backpacking/snowshoeing/winter camping. Despised 1/4 zips till this one. The fit really hugs your body, but the fabric is so soft and comfortable next to skin that I actually couldn't feel it. 6km of breaking trail through thigh high champagne with a big backpack on, it never felt wet, and the 1/4 zip got the air flowing to vent. Super impressed Looking forward to ski touring with it! #smartwoollove
This quarter zip pullover has a very high-quality look and feel to it. Material gives excellent warmth and breathability and feels luxurious. Excellent for layering. Makes a nice fashion look just on its own in my opinion. A little pricey, but I was able to use my rewards to cover some of the cost. I went with a size up from what I normally wear so it wouldn't fit skin-tight. Fits perfect.
I've used Intraknit before and continue to love it! Wearable in an enormous range of temps. . . rarely get too hot but exceptional base layer when really cold. Tough. . . I've fallen on rocks and roots and significantly gouged my arms and elbows (with a lot of blood) but no tears or holes in the Intraknit!! You gotta love a product that holds up to that!!
