Looks so good on my frame
I love it! It's all in the size and proportions. It fits my frame so well. It just looks so cool and chill. Most jackets and hoodies do not look this way on me. The fabric is alright, the color is alright, but it's the way they cut that fabric that makes it rock. REI has a way with those proportions for my frame. And I don't mean the cut line at the bottom that I mentioned above---I mean in general, all over the hoodie, those cut lines all just right. There is just the right amount of slack in there, and you get this cool drape when you put it on. It does not look sloppy and it does not look or feel constrained or fitted or tight. And this thing is unisex, so for a guy they shouldn't be ideal? But they are on my frame. Same thing with their tees. Most sports brands look weird on my frame, but REI looks spot on, and I wind up wearing REI tees to the gym most of the time. Maybe the problem is with the sports brands insisting on shaping their clothes to what they *think* dudes want to see? But I want to see cool drape and I am not interested in showing every possible curve on my body---many of which should never be showcased. Beside fit, warmth is good by itself for a cool day or as an intermediate layer on very cold day. So you can easily wear this inside when your thermostat is on the cooler side, and then you can bundle up with a warmer layer on top when you head outside to clear the snow. The thumb holes I didn't initially care about, but I appreciate them now. You can grab them before you squeeze your arms through a warmer layer so that your sleeves don't roll up inside whatever you're trying to put on. That comes in super handy. I like to keep my thumbs in those holes just because it feels cool but I don't really have a purpose for that unless I'm actively putting on a heavier layer. This was one of the rare items that I immediately got a really good vibe about as soon as I put it on and I was 90% sure that it was the right fit for me---and my mind hasn't changed since then. It looks really good.
