big

i usually wear large in arcteryx (mid and base layers). usually wear size 10-12 in general. large in this was huge…like a tarp….i finally ended up buying small and it still seems relaxed. i’ve never tried a non-relaxed sentinel jacket so unsure how it compares. love it otherwise.

My go to freeride jacket

The new relaxed fit is amazing for layering and is longer which keeps the bum dry! I love a baggier fit! I'm 5'2" and wear this jacket in a size small. Love the chest pocket and hand pockets which I find to be plenty. I've paired this jacket with the Sentinel Bib Pant (the red and green combo is a beautiful pairing, I run the pant in a size 8) for my freeride kit. While I occasionally hike in this kit, I primarily use it for resort skiing and mechanized access to the mountains while filming. If I were to hike in this kit a lot, I would have to size down a touch. It's durable and I love the fit! Durability in fabric matters, but a key aspect is keeping your gear clean. Don't forget to wash it regularly to ensure the waterproofing continues to work!

Great for tall women 5"10 and up.

I am 5'10 with long arms and a long torso. I love this jacket! I've got a 29" waist and 42" hips and a MEDIUM in this jacket fit my height and curves amazingly. They should rename this jacket the women's sentinel tall. I wish that they made puffers for tall women. This jacket is perfect!!! Please don't ever change the length!!!! People are commenting it runs large, but not if you are pretty tall.

Love This Jacket!

I bought this jacket in the Stratus colour and sized down from my usual Medium to a size Small as the fit on this jacket is very generous (I tried on in store before purchasing online). I'm short (5'2") and the small jacket hits mid thigh. I've been wearing a standard Sentinel Jacket for YEARS so this was my first foray into a new jacket fit and at first I wasn't sure but now I love it. I can layer up on super cold days with my Thorium underneath and not feel restricted in my movement. I've been layering with the Allium Jacket and Kyanite Baselayer top and it's keeping me warm (arctic outflow I'd do the Thorium instead of Allium). The colour is great - some people would call it purple, I'd call it blue but I'm constantly getting comments on the colour. On the inside it has two of those mesh goggle pockets (one on each side) which is a new feature to me - I keep a toque on one side and a breakfast burrito in the other ;) Has a zipped pocket in the inner left where I keep cards or key fob. Pit zips are great, I wore this touring and though it doesn't get much airtime when I'm touring (I run hot and it's usually just stuffed in my bag for the downhill) it packs up small. The only thing is that it doesn't have a powder skirt which I'm indifferent about. Overall, great jacket and would recommend!

Excellent for layering on top of puffies

I bought this style in order to have a shell that would fit beneath a puffy and more layers under that -- I do snow camping in the Sierra and it' often very cold as we sit in our snow kitchens! The cut allows the puffies to do their job, because they are not compressed as would happen with a regularly cut pattern. My only quibble is that it would be nice to have a feature that allows more fine-tuning of the hood, because it's cut for a helmet (and we don't wear helmets in our snow kitchens...).

Really cool fit

I purchased the black relaxed fit and really love it! Previous arcteryx gear I purchased in a large, however I bought this one in a medium and love the fit. No snow skirt in the jacket but that's fine with me as I never really used that feature with my other jackets.

Great jacket

Great shell for snowboarding in bounds and out. Breathable, warm, waterproof. Love the relaxed fit. I would size down, if you're ordering online.
