Good ski pants

I like these more as a light, waterproof layer for AT skiing than as rainwear. They have a really nice stretch to them and I'm glad I could get them in longs. The waist is stretchy but sits snug and hasn't fallen down on me. They are pretty breathable and fit well over a pair of base layer tights and are a good defense for gusty winds and snow. The full length zipper is also really nice for opening up the bottoms of the pants to get my boots on and to make adjustments and also for zipping open the sides to vent heat. The cuffs at the bottom are big and roomy, which is nice for ski boots but I don't know how much I'd like that for other footwear while hiking.

Very breathable and great fit

I bought these to have lightweight rain pants. I am 6' tall with a 36" inseam and these fit well, like most Mtn Hardwear pants. They work great as rain pants. Earlier this winter I threw them on one day to go off-trail nordic skiing because it was very windy. I expected to get pretty sweaty in rain pants but didn't at all. Since then I have skied in them numerous times. With wool long underwear underneath and the ability to side vent they make a great shell pant for day long hiking or skiing trips. They are also easy to take on and off over regular xc ski or hiking pants without moving your boots. If I could change one thing I'd replace the top velcro side closures with a snap because my pack strap sometimes rubs them loose. Other than that these are great, versatile pants.

Stretch Ozonic Waterproof Pant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this pant...it is the best rainpant I have ever purchased...it doesn’t swish when you walk and is so comfortable. It is lightweight and doesn’t really look like rain pants. The length is a bit long for me but that is not a problem for the benefits of the garment. The only downfall is the front snap is difficult to open...since the material is not bulky...so I just unzip the side zipper. (I might recommend a double thickness waistband for this purpose and a petite length of 27-28” inseam).Fits like a glove and not bulky. Despite the before mentioned...I actually just purchased a larger size so I can wear heavier layers underneath during winter weather. I also purchased the Exponent waterproof pant...this is stiffer and not as stylish and might be something I wear on casual outings, hiking, etc.

These pants are a dream.

I live in cold Wyoming. I wear these pants over all sorts of other pants. Over leggings for skiing, over regular pants to walk the dog or walk or bike to work. They are very lightweight, very warm, completely wind proof, don't get sweaty and the zippers and stretchiness makes them so comfortable and slim. I did order the XL long based on measurements and returned them for a L regular which fit perfectly even over regular pants. I usually wear a size 12 and am 5'9" tall.

Great pants!

these pants are awesome! I was looking for a lightweight pant to wear while hiking that are also waterproof. these are the pants. I am 5' 3" 140lbs, and I do a lot of lifting, so I have a small waist and big muscular thighs. The "short" version is the perfect length, and these have the perfect amount of stretch while also not being too bulky. Love the zip sides, and the feel of these pants. I want to get these in other colors.

Amazing pant.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 5'8" and 135lbs and medium is perfect. Pants are both flattering to the feminine body and perfect for the outdoors. Only have used it on a few cold non-strenuous and not wet hikes, and once sledding; but worked great! Enough room to wear one if not two pairs of leggings underneath if needed. Love the zipper on the outside. Plan to use them in Iceland and Scotland. Can't wait to properly use them! Worth the price.

3/4 side zip is not easy on/off

The pant itself was comfortable, very lightweight, and waterproof on a 8 mile drenching hike BUT the 3/4 length side zipper is not easy to get off. My boots were covered with mud when I tried to get these off without remove my boots and I got mud all over them. Make these full zip off on the sides. Another person on my hike had full side zips and was able to remover her pants easily and without getting mud on them.

Breathable, flexible, and quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pants are great for backpacking. They repel rain well and block wind. Lightweight and comfortable to walk and climb in without the stiffness and crinkle of regular rain pants. Good for biking too if they put a way to cinch the bottom of the legs. They do not keep you dry if you sit in a puddle so not as useful for paddling. Love that they come in different lengths and have full length zippers.

Superb pants

Love these pants, they fit me true to size, and the slight stretch allows me to move without getting bound up. I was a bit hesitant about the price but after using these pants in the northern Cali rain I’m am super stoked I bought them. So far the best rain pants I have ever had, love how they breath so I’m not feeling like I’m in a sauna. Great job Mountain Hardwear !!

True to size waterproof pants that aren’t too swishy sounding.

They are waterproof but cold if you wear them with no lining on legs. Also, there seemed to be a little static with the pants clinging to my socks until I rubbed a fabric softener sheet over my socks a little. When I was out, there was only a slight drizzle, but they did a good job all except for the fact that my legs were cold in the 50 degree day we were having. I should have worn some silk long underwear that I have, or some of those silver lined long underwear or leggings of some sort. They seem to run true to size. I wish they weren’t quite so full in the legs. And why do they have to have the brand label in the middle of the thigh? Really? I wore them for a long walk and then out to eat and long walk home and I felt like I would have been more comfortable at the nice restaurant we were at if I didn’t have hiking pants on. No one would have noticed they were hiking pants if they had just been plain black. I took off a star for that.
