Carbon filter replacements are available on the LifeStraw website.
I had been eying this for a while so I was happy when it went on sale. There are other water Purifiers out there but they are way more expensive and less durable. This is solid construction and user friendly. It has handles on it which is great. . . others dont. I feel like this purifier can hold up under tough conditions outdoors. Im glad to own one. Everyone should have one in these challenging times.
The bad: Needs improvement, and further accessories to make it usable. The spout is too large for the water volume. Without a hose or attachment to direct flow, the surface tension of the water directs the stream all over the place, making a mess while filling bottles. They dont sell a hose, and they tell you attaching one may void the warranty. It still takes 10 minutes to fill a gallon, but the instructions say not to leave water in the device for more than two days. It’s a 5-gal drum… you’re supposed to only fill small bottles so that you’re not spending an hour draining it? They don’t have a stand for it, so you have to MacGyver something in place to be able to do other things while filling up and returning every 3 mins to repressurize. It’s a nice idea, but a linger field testing period with this might’ve yielded some of these needed features prior to release. The good: easy to set up and when full/pressurized, works well. Water quality tastes great.
I love it but a few things . . 1: my unit was scratched up a bit maybe a return and used? Idk. . 2: I would put some sort of attachment where the water comes out it goes everywhere when filling a jug . . i like that it's portable;) works pretty good so I'm happy 😊
Doesnt work as advertised and the spigot leaks. Not a quaility product I have come to expect from life straw. Extremely disappointed.
The result it great so far. Water tastes great and pretty easy to use. I do have some trouble getting the top on and off easily so I can add more water or clean.
You cannot get a carbon replacement filter anywhere. One the most important parts and there is none.
