Amazing
The Outdoor Research Trail Mix Beanie is the perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and versatility for cool-weather adventures. The soft Thermo-Regulating ActiveTemp fleece is cozy without being bulky, making it ideal for everything from early morning hikes to casual walks around town. It breathes well during activity while still keeping you warm, so you don’t end up sweaty or chilled. Cozy Beanie
Be sure to check the sizing before buying this beanie! I assumed the smaller size was meant for women but definitely check the measurements before you purchase. This beanie was snug and cozy but tended to slip off during my longer runs. When it did stay on, it would get uncomfortably tight. Taking it as extra layer when walking or hiking was no problem. I love Outdoor Research's Trail Mix material and it was the main draw when purchasing this.
Soft, warm, and comfortable - a perfect beanie
I needed a replacement beanie for cool weather and evenings at camp. This was the perfect selection. It's lightweight, incredibly comfortable, and warm. I live in Illinois and I wouldn't (won't) wear it when it's the middle of winter and it's really cold but when it's slightly below freezing through to low 60s, this is the perfect hat. 10/10 would buy it again but, then again, I've never had a sub-par OR product
A fine hat with one thing I would change.
I like the fabric and the extra-long length of the hat. A lot of beanies are now extremely short and don't provide good ear or forehead coverage. I do wish that the OR logo was on the side or back of the hat. It's too prominent in the front, just over your face!
Great Beanie
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this beanie. Initially I thought it might be too thin for the real cold, but it's perfect. The cuff also helps adapt to sweat or frost around the bottom. Never got too hot and adjusted super well to chills while running in the snow at 8k Ft in Colorado.
One of my favorite beanies
This thing is my go to beanie for weather that is on the warmer side of cold. Probably 25-45 degrees Fahrenheit. It is amazingly comfortable, doesn't get itchy, breathes well, and provides good warmth. The fit is nice as well. Keep making this thing, OR!
Great fitting and warm!
I have a big head and was concerned that the L/XL wouldn't fit but it was great! I used it cold weather camping and it was perfect, even while hauling a sled of gear I didn't overheat. And what moisture I did have dried quickly, which is huge for me.
Great beanie for outdoor activities
It's warm but breathes when you move, and I find it stylish. It's a fairly deep, so of you want something just sitting on your head, that's not it.
A little tight
Definitely keeps your noggin warm but does seem a little tight. I have a slightly small head but went with size L/XL and glad I did.
Very large for women
The fabric is light and warm but the fit is not made for women. Runs large and looks goofy if you roll it up higher.
