An Overall Winner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These sneakers are amazing! They give you a solid base when walking and working out. They get more and more comfortable each time I wear them. They feel really durable and like they’re going to last a long time. The Velcro securing the laces feature is brilliant. I don’t have to worry about my laces getting loose during a working. The style is versatile so I can wear them with just about anything. I’ve received multiple compliments on the style and look and my response is “they feel even better than they look!”. This is my first pair of the Metcon line but it definitely won’t be my last!
Garbage Quality and New cupboard ornament.
NO value for money or quality gift to receive. I received my Metcon 9's for Christmas, excited and ready for me to start 2025 off correctly. After ONE Crossfit class back. The toe box material ripped open and the plastic on the sole tore off. As this product is marketed for strength training especially "Crossfit" workouts, you would expect it to handle it or last for at least 1 year but NO got one session out of them and the shoe already gave up. Unfortunately I have had to revert back to using my Metcon 6's as they are still holding up. Waist of money and just a new cupboard ornament.
Great, Strong, Comfy, and Lightweight. PSA - Runs big.
Awesome solid and strong shoe. I bought these mostly for squats and deadlifts. Not suited for running or anything similar due to the hard sole and its shape. I bought a size 9 which is usually my Nike go-to size, but ended up exchanging them. These run big! I ended up going a whole size down. If it were a shoe that I would use for running or whatever, I would have gone down only a half size. What I liked about going down a full size it that it (for me) provided a tight/snug fit which allows for more control. I am speaking from a climbing background though, where small shoes = control. I included a side by side of the Metcons against two other Nike shoes (soccer size 9.5 and ball size 9). Anyways. Awesome shoes!
Don’t sleep on ‘em.
Honestly, thee best Metcon so far. Admittedly, I found these awful and plain looking initially. After finally purchasing, I was silenced when I realized the true quality of this shoe. Heavy lifts, circuits, and daily use; this model has covered it all. Smooth while walking and handling daily tasks, yet sturdy for crossfit, but grounded for compound movements. The amount of detail that has gone into the look… shockingly left it looking very simple from far away. Yet the closer you look at the shoe the more you notice. Well done. Best Metcon yet.
Nike finally widened the toebox a bit!
Nike finally widened the toebox! I have wanted to get a pair of Metcons since they first came out and they always ran too narrow for lifting as I like my toes to splay a little and not be cramped. This is the first pair of Metcons that I am not going to have to return! They are wider without being too wide, and they are stable yet comfortable for everything from CrossFit to day to day wear. My one knock is that they are a little firm around the ankle (Probably from the ridiculous rope overlay) but they are breaking in. Overall they are a solid Crossfit shoe and I hope Nike stays the course on the Metcon as these could have a much wider (Get it?) appeal.
Great functional shoes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My job requires me to be on my feet all day and run back and forth from one end of a building to the other. I usually peel off my shoes at the end of the day and rest my aching feet. These shoes are quite the game changer. I spent all day with them on, cycled home, and went for a run with little discomfort. They appear to be well made and durable, so we will have to see how long I take to run them into the ground (literally). The support is good and I think they are well suited to being worn for long periods of time. They’re also quite the attractive shoe and the black colour is very sleek. I don’t have any complaints. I can see myself buying these in another colour too.
They Grew On Me!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Snug to comfy fit. I guess I just had to break them in. However, even during my first time wearing them I was still able to wear them for an entire shift (plenty of walking/standing) and not have foot pain. I love the sturdiness this shoe provides when weightlifting. The design also grew on me. however, I received compliments from different people before they started to look appealing. Overall, without originally being a fan of the Metcons, I’d give this shoe an 8/10.
Perfect lifting shoes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a previous owner of Nike metcon shoes I knew I’d be getting max comfort. I owned a pair of metcon 5s and use them almost everyday at the gym. When I tried on the Metcon 9s I knew I’d be switching from the 5s to 9s. HUGE UPGRADE. The fit is just right and I love the comfortable soles and flat bottoms, perfect for lifting at the gym. I got the black, white, and gray colorway. Goes great with any fit I choose to wear regardless if I’m trying to match or not!
Best weight training shoes ever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Metcons for my heavy weight lifting days, especially during leg workouts. The flat bottoms allow you to really push off your feet properly when lifting. The shoes are the perfect mix of comfort, practicality and looks. They fit to size and are very durable. I've only purchased two pairs in the last 7 years because of how durable they are, and I am in the gym 4 days a week. While flat on the bottom, there still very comfortable to wear.
Solid all around training shoe. Would definitely buy again.
Best fit and adaptability from a training shoe that I've had in a long time. Creates a super stable base when I'm doing strength training. Virtually no heel compression during lifts (more isometric and accesory vs. oly lifting). Forefoot has lots of traction. Cushioning and padding throughout is also very comfortable. During dynamic movement (HIIT and plyos) there's solid responsiveness. Only issue I run into is a bit of pressure pointing on the outside of the ball of my foot during some explosive lateral movements but this is very limited. Would certainly buy again and recommend as a general training shoe for anyone who's integrating light or heavy weight into their routine.
