Good fit, design may need improvements
Fits great! But the dinosaurs are disappointing. They showed up really nice the first two or three times of wearing and the fourth time I wore it to a water park and it just stayed solid black. I hand washed and air dried the pieces as directed, the last time I wore it was the first time in chlorinated water.
Finally, great swim shorts for women
Comfortable, sensible, perfect swim shorts for women of all body types! I am so grateful I found them.
Inconsistent sizing, but otherwise fantastic!
I adore the TomboyX 4.5" swim shorts! They are my go-to for something cute but modest and, most importantly, don't require me to shave or wax my bikini line. I own 3 pair already, but loved this new print so went for a 4th. These run smaller than my previous ones, which are all XL and fit just right or even slightly loose. These, on the other hand, are slightly snug. I'm hoping a few dips in the ocean will stretch them out a bit. I do love the addition of the side pocket on this new pair!
Not Like Bike Shorts
There's no wasteline like bike shorts or leggings. That took some getting used to..There seems to be one in the photo though. It's also seamless down the front, but the forbidden cameltoe does not happen. These also aren't high-waisted, which I was hoping for. Same with the top, this has to be really wet for the dinosaurs to appear. If all your weight is in your bottom half like me, size up. I wear 30 in pants and a Large was a perfect fit, but I could've gone for XL.
Quite snug but happy
My kid is really happy with these! They like the colors, fit, and POCKETS. I wish I had trusted my mom instincts and gone a size larger. They were very close to right in the middle of sizes by measurements. This fits but they are still growing so fast I'm worried by the end of pool season it'll be just way too tight. But at the end of the day I made my kid happy, and I'm happy with that.
This seems like a great suit, great fabric. Love the pocket. It was significantly smaller than my other tomboyx stuff. I am always and reliably a 2x, including in other recent swimwear purchases. But these shorts were too tight. I have returned (annoying because I live in Canada) and repurchased a 3x, hoping that will be better. Highly recommend to size up!!
Overall pretty good
The pattern is fun, and I like the length of the shorts. It does feel a bit more snug around my midriff than I was anticipating, but not to the point where it’s uncomfortable. I really like swimming with these, better than any bikini I’ve had.
Fun with a great fit!
The swim shorts look and fit great! They were perfect on days from my recent vacation that included physical activities prior to swimming. Additionally, my whole group was obsessed with the dinosaur pattern! My new swimwear go-to!

(5'7", 155 lbs, waist 30.5, hips 41) Awesome swim shorts! The print is vibrant and the fit is perfect. I waffled on a medium or a large, since I like my swimsuits to fit tight, but I'm glad I got the large.
Free to be me
Love these. I can now walk from the car to the pool or on the beach without shorts over my bathers. Feeling groovy and no chub rub. I'm size 4x and the fit is great. Love the pocket
