It took until my 30s to realize I can only sleep in fetal position, which explains why I could never sleep well backpacking all of these years. I'm 5'4 and I found this to be the most comfortable bag I've ever owned. I curled up comfortably and went in all sorts of positions without feeling restricted. An added bonus is the ability to unzip the bottom, which helps in two ways: 1. if you are like me and absentmindedly just start stuffing your bag without thinking which end is going in first, lets air come out the bottom if its unzipped and 2. you can easily access the coats and jackets you store at the bottom of your feet to keep things warm. Moral of the story is: if you are my size, this will be a luxury palace
Compared to the bags I have experience with, this is much lighter. It feels fantastic and I like the features. I'm 6'2" so I got the long version which is nice for when I curl my legs of flip around. The sack it comes with is giant, you'll have to get an aftermarket sack if you want it compacted. I wish they designed some way to tension the bag around your legs for when you go parka mode in it.
I used this bag for maybe 10 nights of camping before a seam burst and feathers went everywhere! I read this happened to another Mountain Hardwear model as well. REI begrudgingly took it back though.
I used the sleeping bag backpacking in the end of February in Michigan. The temps were down to 30, and I was warm and comfortable to move around. I'm 5'10" and 180lb.
Warm bag with some cool features. I move around a lot when I sleep so not feeling constricted is important and this bag does that!
Silky smooth, ample room, and many zipper configurations to allow for various venting options and sleeping position.
The bag is great. Lightweight, comfortable, warm. But for the price a stuff sack should be included.
