great rack at a great price

I saw a review on bike packing.com’s YouTube channel, as well as reviews on REI and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. It was a little complicated to install at first so I went to see some installs on YouTube and was able to get it installed. The best part of the rack is how easy it is to remove. I also got their gravel panniers and they worked great. Finished doing the Erie Canal and had zero problems 👍👍🤪

Does not fit 29" tires on my bike

This rack is advertised to fit 29" tires. I have a new (as of 2024) Salsa Cutthroat GRX600 with 29x2.2"tires. When attached to the built-in mount points on the seat stays, the rack only has 1/4" clearance between the tires and the rack. The guide from Ortlieb states not to use the rack unless there is 20mm (approx. 0.79") clearance. Sad to have to return this, as it's lightweight and the mounting mechanisms were easy to attach/detach.

My favorite rack

I love this rack! It's so easy to remove, and once it is locked in place it doesn't budge. I use it daily for carrying stuff around town, grocery runs, etc. I've also taken it on a couple of light bike tours and it's done a great job. It doesn't rattle or loosen up like some of the cheaper racks, and it can hold a good deal of weight. I do wish it was a bit bigger, but I can usually get it to hold anything I want it to. I love how easy it is to take on and off, so when I want to go for a fast and light ride it's just a few seconds to remove.

Doesn’t fit my 29” tires

The rack is advertised to fit over 29” tires. I have new Salsa Cutthroat GRX600 with 29” x 2.2” tires. When the rack is mounted to the eyelets on the seat stays, there is less than 1/4” clearance between the tire and rack. According to the manual that comes with the rack, it should not be used unless there is at least 20mm of clearance (approx. 0.78”). Sad to have to return this, as the rack light and the attachment mechanism seems great and easy to use.

Turn your bike into a caravan

This thing is so sturdy it shocks me for how easy it is to assemble and disassemble. Darn Germans have really mastered bikes and I love it. I use this for bike commuting and grocery shopping with the gravel panniers which are a miracle of engineering

A much cheaper alternative of Tailfin rack

One of the very few that has quick release. Easy to install, light and have good load capacity. Only cost less than half of a Tailfin rear rack. I'm very please with it.

So close...

I liked everything about this rack and was looking forward to the easy on/off, but unfortunately I couldn't make it work with our bike (Co-Motion Primera tandem). The combination of the bike's geometry and rear drop-out design means there isn't room for the latch mechanism. The studs mount just fine but the latch lever bumps against the derailleur cable on one side and the disc brake on the other.
