Smartwool  Hike Light Cushion Pattern Ankle Socks

These are quality socks that live up to the reputation of Smartwool. They changed how they make their running socks and I've had to find other brands due to the drop in quality. However, their hiking socks are still as great as ever. They are comfortable, wick moisture well, and last forever. The only reason I didn't rank these 5 out of 5 is because the color of the sock didn't quite match the pictures on the website. The pictures make them look a little more reddish, and in reality they are a little more brown.

First time buying the ankle socks and love them!I've been wearing your hike light cushion crew socks for years. They are the most comfortable sock I have ever owned. I wear them all the time for everything I do- hike, kayak in spring, fall, and winter as well as at my job as an Environmental health and safety coordinator. The one thing I will say is I wish there were more patterns for the men's socks. The women's seem to have some really cool patterns that the men's don't come in so I will by the women's. More cool patterns in mens please!

My #1 all time sock from Smartwool is the UL micro runner, but this may be a close second. I'm an avid hiker in the warmer months and I've been searching for the perfect sock. Firstly, the sock height is perfect for my hiking boots. I don't like too tall of a sock and these fit the bill perfectly. Second, these have just the right amount of cushion, AND in just the right places for high mileage hiking. Third, the perfect fit and the natural moisture and temperature regulation of merino make these a home run! #SmartwoolLove

First, I want to say Smartwool has an excellent replacement program. I have bought three pairs. The first two became uncomfortable in the heel. Smartwool has replaced them. I paid for shipping. The third pair is starting to get uncomfortable. See the images. One has huge bumps. One seems to be developing bumps. The last is brand new. I doubt I will request replacements in the future, instead I might look for other socks. Laundry - I never use fabric softener on these and I always line dry.

I've been a fan of Smartwool for quite a while. Their socks are both soft and comfortable and their Base Layers, are the same. My wife and I are going on vacation in Scandinavia in late summer thru early fall and both products will end up being our favorites to wear. Comfortable regardless of the temperature, and a real benefit is being able to use them for multiple days in a row so long as they don't get muddy or dirty, which allows us to travel lighter than usual. Smartwool is the best

I have purchase numerous Smartwool socks in my time. They started off as funny Christmas gifts from my Mom. I mean really, socks for Christmas. I hadn't gotten things like that since I was a kid, but then, they became treasured gifts. My husband and I are very outdoorsy people and truly love our smartwool socks. After a days work of walking, hiking, kayaking, etc. our feet are still so nice and warm and supported. We highly recommmend Smartwool socks.

This is the first time I have gotten an ankle sock, after buying mostly ski socks and mid calf length for hiking. The fit is identical to other Smartwool socks I have, and does a great job of moving with you/not bunching up/etc. They breathe really well, which is great when going between different temperatures, taking on/off shoes, etc. so your feet don't get to hot or too cold. I have used these primarily for everyday use, some light hiking, walking around so far and have really enjoyed them. The only thing that is not my favorite is where the sock lands on my ankle, which I think is mostly because I don't normally wear socks this length. It is not uncomfortable in any way, but I still notice the sock is there and can feel where it stops. I'm assuming as I get more used to this fit that feeling goes away. Overall, another fantastic sock!

I love these socks for endurance running. The cushion level is just right to keep my feet from overuse injuries I have experienced in the past. The placement of the stitching avoids the risk of blisters from continuous rubbing against seams. And the wool is perfect for keeping my feet the perfect temperature, whether it's 80º or 40º, dry or rainy.

I've used Puma socks for a long time. They are pretty affordable and fit well. With that said, I could never go back to them after wearing these. Everyone knows that ""new sock feel"". With these its like that every time, and last all day long. There are levels to the sock game and Smartwool is just in a class of its own.
