Nite Ize  RunOff Waterproof Hip Pack

I purchased this hip pack for sea kayak camping trips and expeditions. I wanted to keep my phone, keys, wallet, lighthouse stamp passport, pen, and a small knife together in a waterproof container with the feel of a purse. It travels in the day hatch compartment of my kayak. The Nite Ize RunOff kept contents dry and organized on expedition. Since it stows smaller than a roll-up dry bag, I continue to use it for day trips. It is convenient to wear to go to the ferry office, ranger station, or camp store, and the stylish turquoise pack attracts notice at after-paddle pub visits. The clear panel works satisfactorily to operate the phone’s touch screen. Of course it is not designed to take photos from within the pack, unless one is using the “selfie” camera. (I use it to protect my phone while hiking in damp conditions, but use a submersible camera tethered to my PFD on the water.) The pack works best worn as a hip or chest pack, as advertised. If simply slung in over a shoulder like a purse, care must be taken when opening not to dump the contents. I wish the straps were attached toward the top rather than at center where it pivots readily. Also, one must avoid something with edges getting pressed against the clear panel in a tightly packed compartment. I got a small divot in mine, however it didn’t create a leak. Initially I thought this simple-looking product was rather pricey, but it has earned its place in my regular paddle equipment.

This waterproof hip pack was just what I needed to be able to keep my phone close by the pool in case an important call came in while I was relaxing in the pool or hot tub on my recent getaway. The hip pack closed up and became water tight to keep my phone dry. This case is lightweight yet durable and provides protection while still usable. I’m excited to book my next trip and bring this Run Off pack by Nite Izzy along with me.

I bought this a little more than six months ago for a cruise vacation, and was not disappointed. While it was a little smaller than I'd like - I couldn't put my whole wallet inside - it was nevertheless incredibly useful. I took it in the ocean multiple times, snorkeling and swimming, and no water ever got inside. However, you do have to be extra careful to close the zipper all the way, as it is easy to stop short and leave a gap at the edge without noticing. If you put your phone in the front pocket you can technically use the touch screen through the clear window, but it's difficult in bright sunlight, so I generally did not bother with that. I will definitely be using this all summer long!

There is ample room for your phone wallet and other things you want to protect from water! The construction and seals are solid and I feel comfortable that the closure is solid and everything will stay dry and protected. I also love the thick strap that keeps it in place on your body!

It’s the perfect size for the necessities- keys, phone, ID, etc. It came in clutch during a day out on the river. I like the innovative zipper closure that helps ensure it stays watertight. I do find it kind of difficult to open and close, but I have mobility issues. It has a divider in the center so you can separate your items and that offers some concealment for things you may not want to be visible. I like the divider, but it does decrease the usable space in the bag. The strap is adjustable and is made of a smooth nylon-type material that feels very comfortable on the skin. It comes with a lubricant wipe for the the zipper closure that helps with the seal and with ease of opening/closing.

Freakin love this thing. Such a comfortable way to keep my phone dry. But it's also just awesome to wear like a cross body bag and still have access to your phone without taking it out. A lot better than I had expected. There is a practically identical bag from Booe but that one doesn't have the detachable buckle on the strap. That is just dumb. Glad I looked at both before buying. This one is definitely better. And cheaper.

Very nice looking. The pack tends to float while in pool. Zipper slides smoothly. Pack kept my documents dry. My cell phone heated up, but probably due to hot/humid weather.

I bought this to keep my phone and id safe while swimming in the ocean in Hawai`i. It worked as described, my stuff stayed perfectly dry. The waist belt was fine to wear; after a little while I didn't even notice I had it on.

Me and my husband both feel comfortable wearing this, it’s perfect from everything to the beach, pool days, or days on the boat. The strap is easily adjusted and the clasps are tight and secure, making you feel so comfortable that this is going to stay on your body. The zipper is a little difficult to open, but at least you know it’s tight enough to keep your items dry.
