So much better than the GARMIN HRM. I had the Garmin for a while and frequently had trouble getting it to connect to the GARMIN EDGE computer, come one it's in the same family! You'd think it be seamless but it was not. The COROS always connects having a rechargeable unit is important to me. It charges well and lasts long. My GARMIN ate batteries and finally died when water somehow got inside the unit and killed it. The only complaint is I wished the light would indicate when battery is low. I'm sure you can do it in the Coros app but I didn't see any indicator and I deleted the app because it was the only Coros unit I owned. I recommend this as it's comfortable (way better than a chest strap) and the battery lasts.
My Coros Heart Rate monitor arrived today! It’s everything the write up said it would be. I’ve used it for one bicycle Zwift workout. It’s very comfortable to wear and the data on Strava looks smooth. The Lack’O buttons will take a little getting accomplished to, but I can handle it. Of course I can’t comment on battery life yet, but I’m a happy exercise fanatic! And contrary to an earlier review, you don’t need a Coros watch!
I've been looking for an external HR monitor and thankfully my search is over! Full transparency, I still love my Garmin watch but the HR data was starting to get spotty. I looked into the Garmin HR chest straps, including the one specifically for women which hooks onto a sports bra. However, the reviews were mixed and it was $150 dollars. After seeing many pro runners speak highly of their Coros monitors, I decided to give it a try. It's an absolute game changer! From a data side, it's very accurate and is compatible with my Garmin watch & smart trainer. From a practical side, it was cheaper than the other options and I find the armband design much more comfortable than the chest strap. I've worn it on some very sweaty long runs and it hasn't slide down or chaffed. Highly recommend this product for any endurance athlete!
Great heart rate monitor. I started low heart rate training and wanted something more accurate than my apple watch SE. Its a bit difficult to tell if its working with the apple watch so I reached out to Coros support and here's the response: "You can connect COROS HRM with your Apple Watch via Bluetooth directly. After establishing the connection between the HRM and your Apple Watch, the HRM will automatically connect with your Apple Watch when entering HR broadcasting and workout mode. So even though it shows disconnected in the Bluetooth list, when you put the HRM on your arm and start HR broadcasting or enter workout mode on your Apple watch, you will see the green lights on the HRM start flashing and monitor the HR data on your Apple watch." After putting on the heart rate monitor, open your watch blue tooth settings and connect your heart rate monitor. Once it starts flashing it means its paired and you're good to go. Hope this helps out other apple watch users!
I purchased this as an option for my Garmin Edge. The Garmin HRM fits around your chest. This is uncomfortable and a hassle to get the fit correct. They also seem to have a life span of about 2 years because I have to replace them about that often. So, I wanted something that was easier and that fit more comfortably. This fits around my upper arm and I hardly notice that it is there. The one caveat is that you can only connect this HRM to one blue tooth device at a time. So, don't connect it to the app. Set up directly with your Garmin Edge only. Otherwise, you will not get a reading.
Tried a Suunto watch and the optical sensor had issues with the tattoo on my wrist. Decided to give this a try on a open area on my upper arm. Tracks HR really will with no dropped signal. Used this with longer hikes, HIIT workouts and while sleeping without any issues. you DO NOT need to connect this to a watch to utilize HR tracking. I am using the Polar Beats App to track each workout using the COROS HR Monitor. Works well for this purpose. However, you will need a watch if you want to utilize functions like sleep tracking, HRV, and workout recovery. It's great for the $ if you don't need all of the functions of the more expensive watches.
Great product, easy to use, and more enjoyable than the chest HR monitor. Hardly notice the band is on my arm and easily sinks to my COROS watch and I can see the battery life as well (which is impressive). 10/10 recommend if you are using or considering tracking HR during exercise and want a change from the chest strap
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT buy this heart rate monitor. After a few months of occasional use it decided to no longer pair with the Coros App which rendered this HRM totally useless. Coros Customer Support provided some minimal and basic troubleshooting direction which did absolutely nothing. I gave this product a one star rating simply because there is no option for ZERO star.
Much more comfortable than any other HR Monitor I've ever worn. Connectivity makes starting your workouts simple, and accuracy that is comparable if not perfectly accurate with any chest strap.
Very comfortable and accurate. Fixed cadence lock problems with my watch in cold weather.
