Some people complain about the end fraying. I'm going to buy one with a little extra length. If necessary I can cut it back then use a lighter or gas stove to rebond the end if necessary. PS Bison 🦬 Belts are made in Longmont. CO
Great belt w/ plastic buckle for airport security
Some of the previous reviews made me hesitant. I found this in the store when looking at other belts, got a Large without looking and exchanged it for a Medium. It is perfect! Makes airport security much easier, since the belt buckle is plastic. The buckle feels sturdy enough and isn't difficult to lock into place. The belt material is stiffer than a fabric belt, but isn't uncomfortable at all. I like the gray-green color and sure I'd wish it were more green and that the buckle were a nicer shape, but otherwise it is exactly what I want and very out-of-the way.
Travel companion and great for daily wear
I took the multicolored version of this belt with a T lock clasp on a two week tour of France and it performed beautifully. I’m now ordering this color in order to have a back up and more color options. It has become my daily casual dress belt since I return.
Great Bison Belt American Made
I love this belt! It has a texture that should prevent slippage.
A Good Belt
The belt holds my pants up - what can I say? It does the job.
Short lifespan
This seemed like a good idea, but there is nothing at the end of loop to prevent fraying. I have had belts that were still useable after a decade, but it only took a couple of months for the end to begin to unravel to the extent that it didn't fit through the buckle anymore. Have trimmed several times, but the problem repeats. I understand that a metal clip would undo the "airplane proof" aspect, but some sort of permanent solution would be good.
A change from the old sliding web belt buckle
The very stiff nylon webbing isn't dunlop friendly, it irritates my "overhang". The buckle doesn't stay closed if the free end of the belt pulls away and there's no securing loop. Airport security will probably have you remove it anyway so the "airport friendly" (non ferrous) buckle isn't a big plus. I do like the minimalist design and infinite adjustability.
5 minute buckle fight every tiime it is worn
The gate for the belt material is so narrow that the slightest snag in the material will get caught. Since the edge of nylon being forced through a buckle tends to fray, this belt requires a real struggle to put on every time. I have shaved it, melted it, tried several things but I cannot defeat this terrible design. I will be returning this.
Great belt but one issue
I really liked this belt when it first arrived, enough to order a brown on direct from Bison Designs. However, after a few weeks of wearing it one of the lead corners is already starting to fray a little bit making it hard to get through the buckle. If not for that issue I would probably give it five stars.
Overall decent
Lots of room from medium size, typically wear 33 waist. Took a second to find a way to get a secure fit (have to insert end into pant loop prior to securing). Plastic buckle feels firm like it will last. Not exactly airport friendly, as I got beeped for it and TSA said it’s 50/50.
