Well Designed and Easy to use
I use the kids seat on my new electric Velotric packer bike. It fits perfectly on the rear platform. It is sturdy and comfortable. I really only trust Thule products like this. You know you are getting the best.
Solid bike seat
Worth every penny! I tried two different cheaper bike seats from the big box stores, and they were junk. Decided to spend the money on this and it’s worth every penny. Solid build quality, safety features are on point, and I love the quick install. I chose this model because I wanted something I can attach and detach quickly as I only have one bike and I use it for mountain biking and mellow rides to the park with my daughter. This seat is the perfect match, don’t think twice. My daughter is almost two and she sits comfortably and securely in this seat, and happily enjoys it in 30-45 minute bike rides.the foot straps are also awesome….except my daughter is too tiny so her feet don’t reach fully. All in all, solid purchase.
Comfy ride, a few details wanting
My 2 year old has graduated from the chariot to her yepp seat and loves it. It’s comfy for her, steady for me, and easy to install. Our bike is our main commuter vehicle, so we use the seat (and trailer, for multiple kids) daily. Only a couple of things I would change- the buckle is very easy to open, and the kids will undo it while I am riding. Also, once installed it is difficult to retract the ratchet that mounts the seat to the rack. It was unclear if I needed a ez mount adapter so I bought one, but it was unnecessary- fits my current setup fine. Would be nice to have clearer specs/instructions on mounting and dismounting available before purchase.
Install in 5 minutes are less.
We installed two Yepp Maxi seats onto our eCargo bike and its was super easy. The bike came with an integrated rack that fits the Yepp Maxi seat. We just dropped the seats in place, turn the knob and done. The seats work great for our two year old twins. The harness is easy to buckle. The only feature that we struggled for a few seconds was figuring out the locking mechanism. Overall the kids and us love the seats.
Doesn’t fit, not info about fitting requirements
There’s a max and min rack width that only is printed on the box the seat comes in (110-170mm, FWIW), and against all logic and sound reasoning, Thule didn’t put this in the tech specs not product info on their web page (which mirrors all online retailers’ info) not in any of the three PDFs on the product page. Net result? The rack that came with my Specialized bike (not a rare nor unique bike by any means) is too narrow and I had no way to find out until it arrived. Cmon Thule, it’s like a restaurant not posting their open hours prominently: put the most important info on your product page!
Almost perfect
Almost perfect and passes the mommy inspection. Only issue is the color option. Black under the summer sun means too hot on skin for shorts and tshirts/sleeveless. Orange or another color for safety and skin protection would’ve passed all the tests!
Overall Disappointed
I had high hopes as a top brand that this child carrier would be premium material and great functionality. Especially for the price. We have rode about 40 miles with it. It seems to be made of great material. However, the buckle is very hard to adjust and the straps really press down on my daughter's (2yrs old) legs. We also have to park the bike in the shade because the black seat gets extremely hot. I wanted to swap it out for a blue one or just return all together but there terms did not allow it. I would recommend going with something that has a lap bar and easier straps.
Functional and Hardy
This works great. I've had it about a month and it's simple to strap the child into and keeps him in place for the whole ride. So it works as advertised. Thumbs up.
Works on my Rad Wagon
Works great. Incredibly easy setup. Also, it works on my Rad Wagon. The rear rack on the Rad Wagon is technically wider than the max width listed in the manual for the Yepp 2. However, it is plenty stable and I’m comfortable with it. Because it’s technically over the limit I did add a couple ‘backup straps’ just in case, but there is nothing about the setup that makes that feel necessary - other than being cautious considering the precious cargo I’ll be carrying. Have taken out a few times now and it feels extremely secure.
Mounting Mech is Awful
We just received 3 of these and all 3 mounting mechanism were incredibly difficult to tighten and even more difficult to loosen. Yes, the lock was in the "unlocked" position, as I checked multiple times due to my surprise at their difficulty of use. I wanted to put seat post grease on the threads but instead we are returning 2 of the 3 because a customer is insistent on buying it. The previous system seemed to work flawlessly and I'm surprised and disappointed that they went away from it.
