Leaves water with chemical/material taste.
Leaves a rubber/plastic taste if left in the heat/sun. Otherwise works great, hasn't burst yet. Did manage to lose the included spout before the first trip, so that is a huge bummer. I did was and sanitize day of purchase and dried out. I rinse a couple of times before filling for camping. on the two trips I used it, I car camping, the other canoeing, there was a strong taste of rubber/plastic to the water, it was warm both trips, and kept out of direct sunlight most of the trip. Might be leaching of material due to the heat.
Highly recommend and very impressive for the price
Very durable and lightweight. I purchased two 10L and allowed it to filter into the other bag while out hunting. We had quick access to all the water we needed on a 10 day backcountry hunt.
High expectations - Perfect delivery
Compact enough to take into the backcountry for basecamp and durable enough to fill and pack into a cooler at the truck. Sturdy grab handle on the opposite end of the spigot allows you to hang it from a tree branch, roof rack, rooftop tent frame, etc.
Great water bladder
Great product, used it to be the water source for the Dometic Faucet with some DIYing. Works wonderfully, seems to be very strong. The cap has the water connector as the Dometic Water tank
Good construction and simple design
Used multiple times for camping (Car, Bike, and Paddling). Works well lying flat, or vertically (which does increase the flow rate). I like that the included camp spout can be push to use or locked in the open position. I cleaned mine out and dried before first real use and I don't notice any taste or smells. It also dries out quickly by hanging it up vertically. So far the rigging points have all held, and no issues with leaking. It has been dropped and rolled a few times while completely full and still working. I have NOT tried with the Plug And Play filter. Only CON so far: I do make an effort to keep it out of the sun (in Florida) since the darker color would heat up the water, but the sweating on the exterior help keep the water inside a bit cooler than the air temp.
Works great; makes water taste like rubber
I’ve only used it once, so I hope the taste/odor will eventually dissipate, but it’s like others have said: it makes water taste slightly funny. If you use it for cooking, it’s fine. If.you’re drinking it straight, you will notice it.
Great Engineering
We used two of these 10L on a recient trip and were very impressed with the quality and the thoughtful engineering that went into the product. Attaching the hose is simple and works every time. The design of the nozzle is very functional and well engineered. The protective cap for the nozzle is clever. Easy to use. We are water snobs and used good filtered water in the packs. There was no plastic or rubber taste to the water we drank.
Imparts bad taste to water
Loved the utility of the bag for car camping trips. Unfortunately the water is undrinkable after it's been in the bag 12-24 hours. Despite an initial cleaning out of the box and 5 days of flushing and refilling, by the next morning after a refill the water is undrinkable. Even coffee made with the water tasted bad. To confirm this was caused by the bag, I ran a test at home: I washed the bag and filled it with water. I dispensed a cup of water into a mason jar and stored both in a cool dark place. After 24 hours, the water from the mason jar still tasted fine, but the water from the bag had a bad taste. This bag is clearly leaching stuff into the water and is not suitable for drinking. This may be an OK option if you were emptying within a day, but then you probably wouldn't get a 10L bag. It's too bad, because otherwise we really liked a lot about it (the large opening makes it easy to clean, the dispenser hose makes it easy to access water).
Cap was crushed but still recommend
I really enjoyed using this on a recent trip. I did however have an issue where hanging the bag from the loop opposite the cap slipped off the hook and the weight of the water in the bag landed on the cap and crushed it inward. Luckily the cap is now on order as a replacement.
Cool design. Better than the old plastic water jug
Easy to use. No Chem taste. Used for Thanksgiving camping adventure at South Mountain State park. Worked like a charm and ironically did not freeze overnight.
