Saved my feet in the snow!
Right before a snowy backpacking trip, my waterproof boots fell apart. I was left with a brand new pair of lone peaks for sub 30 degree weather and around a foot of snow. I got these socks last ditch and I honestly wasn't thrilled about depending on them. However, I quickly found that the socks were extremely warm in the snow and ice. I wore a light wool sock underneath these, and my feet were warm and drier than they ever had been before. In contrast, some of those who wore watertight boots began to bucket and have freezing feet. My shoes fell off multiple times in the snow and water, but the moisture was never able to reach my feet. Literally the best 45 dollars I have ever spent. I would've gotten frostbite without them for sure. The only time my feet got wet was when I let the water go over the top of the sock as an experiment.
Toasty and dry feet!
Feet stayed shockingly hot and dry all day during yesterday’s 5 mile hike in shin-deep snow. Disclaimer: I was also wearing waterproof boots along with testing micro spikes, snowshoes and Snowfeet. Boots were caked in snow all day but feet stayed incredibly warm especially the toes. Took them off at 8pm at home and feet were bone dry and not pruny. I’m a W size 8 shoe but opted for the M/L for more roominess hoping to also create warm air pockets rather than being tightly squeezed. Can’t wait to test further especially in the rain.
Impossibly tight
Completely impossible to wear. I am not overweight, my calves are normal size, but the calves of these socks are so incredibly tight they cause actual pain when I wear them and I worry about causing a DVT. Threw them away.
