Too hot to use if outside temp is 70 degrees.

The rain fly and tent does not allow for air circulation and retains body heat. At 70 degrees outside temperature with 60% humidity the tent with two people inside at night with both rain flaps open was uncomfortably warm. During an hour long rain storm with the tent buttoned up at 73 degrees it was very hot inside. The heat problem is a shame because the tent is almost completely water proof. The weather service reported 4 inches of rain came during the hour and two inches of pooling water under the tent did not come inside the tent. It fit nicely on my front handle bars of my bike and is very lightweight. At 60 degrees in the morning it was comfortable inside. Perhaps a good cold weather tent.

Minimal vents and visibility

Love the features of the tent and the durable construction. Great bag design! What I did not like is the solid wall. The minimal vents did nothing. I set this up in my backyard to test and inspect on delivery on a very windy day. There was minimal air movement in the tent even without the fly! Once the fly is on, the vents on the fly don't work well and also make operating the door much more cumbersome. Also did not like the fly attachment system as you have to lift the tent pole and loop it underneath; would prefer it to clip into the base with a buckle like other tents. Overall this is a great tent if you're not claustrophobic and mostly camp in cold weather where these solid walls would be welcomed. I live in the south, so the heat is usually my biggest issue to contend with out in the elements.

Happy so far.

The tent is working well so far. I'm on day 3 of a Paris to Prague trip via bike, and this Hubba Hubba is as nice as my two previous older versions. Packs down smaller than my NX. I do like the clothes lines and pocket layout, and doorway over previous versions, and the extra headroom is great for tall me. I do miss the tension toggles on the bottom corners, and wish I didn't have to modify the footprint to make it work better. The shorter poles sections make it much easier to pack, especially on a drop bar bike.

This is the same classic

This is the same classic Hubba tent, we enjoyed over many years with several improvements: shorter straight zippers, will last longer by eliminating the bend, aluminum poles are back, wich is a plus over the silicone poles, and the fly is green, and blends well in nature. Shorter poles allow the tent to pack is a very compact bag, and the bag itself is an improvement. Two vestibules are great. There is just the right amount of space for the two people.

I love this tent

Moving on from a good ALPKIT tent, this one just has everything down to perfection. Pole length obviously but very intuitive setup is essential in adverse weather when stealth camping and tired. The bag is just wonderful, but poles inside works better and leaves straps for other gear. Performed well in moderate winds on Shetland and should do the job for a ride from the UK to Australia I recon. Might grab a few spare pegs and a ground sheet tho.

Stellar Tent

Bought this tent and took it on my first Bikepacking trip. It could not have performed better. This tent is so well thought out. It is not gimmicky in its bikepacking specific label. This is a perfect tent for two, and palatial for one. 5 stars!

leaks

I world travel by motorcycle and sleep in my tent over half the year and bought the newest hubba hubba and it’s been disappointing for one reason; the fly at the top of the tent collects water, be it rain or dew and it puddles there causing the water to slowly seep thru the fly and drip into the tent. I contacted MSR and received no help, too bad as otherwise it’s a great tent.

Perfect or not?

I’m a big fan of the MSR brand, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of their products. My first tent was the MSR Elixir 3, and two years ago, I decided to get the Hubba Hubba 2-person tent as my second. I haven’t used it extensively, but overall, I’ve been very happy with it. The tent is incredibly lightweight, waterproof, wind-resistant, and offers plenty of space. However, this year, during a 7-day trek on the Lycian Way in Turkey, I encountered an issue. On the third day, one of the carbon poles broke. Thankfully, a friend had repair splints with them, which saved the situation. Without that, I would have been in serious trouble, as I still had 4 days of remote trekking ahead. It’s surprising that repair splints weren’t included in the tent’s package, especially considering its price point. I expected the poles to last longer under normal use. Dear MSR team, if there’s any way you could assist me with this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

Bijna perfect
