Great waterproof matches, could be a bit tougher.

These matches are great! But a stronger stick might be an improvement. I was teaching girls age 9 to 16 how to start a fire in case they were lost in the Forrest. We did all of the fire safety training, learned about the fire triangle, air, fuel, spark to get a fire started. We used magnesium fire starters, solid fuel tabs, and these matches. Several of my students were nervous and as they tried to strike the match broke off the head. At first I was frustrated that they broke the match, but after watching them I realized that if I had hypothermia I would not have the muscle control to potentially strike these matches without breaking the head off. All of that said we put these matches in water for 3 minutes, set up a small fan to simulate wind and these matches lit every time. Great field test. Great product.
