A High-Quality Pack with No Clear Use

Received free product

This 10L gear pack is made of various plastic materials. It would be waterproof except for the mesh on the front. This successfully allows for visible ID of gear. I’m using it for storing common house tools, which you’ll see in the photos. The handle is facing like a picnic basket rather than a strap, faced perpendicular. Like a picnic basket, carrying the pack is a bit awkward It is strong and can carry heavy loads. The problem isn’t with sturdiness, it’s with utility. The best I can think of is a mess kit, burner, and fuel. I suppose, well-constructed product, “the applications are limitless.” Unfortunately, it won’t fit smoothly into most backpacks. However if you have an Osprey 85 L Xena or a Hyperlite Porter, then this may be a great choice for small gadgets of any kind.

Great quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free Alpaca Gear Pod 10L for free for my honest review from Influenster and Alpaca. This gear pod is really great quality! The pod is thick and durable, the screen is made of plastic and not cloth, so it will not tear easily. Plenty of room for a couple large flashlights and batteries, first aid supplies, cooking supplies, whatever you need to pack for a camping trip or just storing away in the garage . I really appreciate the fact that Alpaca uses recycled materials for their products! I’d recommend the 10L Gear Pod to anyone needing to organize small items and gear.

Super handy organizer

Received free product

This handy little organizer is like a packing cube but 1000x better because the sides are stiff, so it holds its shape. I've been using it to organize bike & running gear. Perfect for keeping race items (bib number, gels, hat, etc) together, and separate from post-race gear in a larger duffle. The mesh top makes it easy to see what's in there, and also allows airflow so things like my sweaty hat can air out on the car ride home. I also think it would make a great organizer for the transition area in a triathlon- I'd put my small items like run belt, glasses, etc. to keep them organized and protected between legs. This will definitely be coming with me on an upcoming trip to tahoe and will be getting a lot of use!

Great durable material

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this as a sample from Influenster for my honest review. I was very surprised with the quality of the material. The bag was made with long lasting durability in mind. The mesh top of the bag is great for keeping things in the bag that needs breathing room. I like the top also for being able to see in the bag. I would highly recommend this product and myself will be ordering another bag.

More than a lunch box

Received free product

I used this gear pod for a 24 hour race to store all my energy gels, snacks, protein bars, and hydration supplements. It worked well and was a lot better than digging through bags to find items I needed. I initially thought it would be good to have moveable dividers to separate things inside. Due to the different size of the items I took I now think the dividers would be a waste. I also wasn’t too sure about the mesh top cover. I thought dirt, dust, and water might get inside. It turned out to be a nonissue and helped me quickly realize what I needed more of and my options before I started rummaging for a snack. Overall, this serves its purpose and seems very durable.

Perfection.

Perfect. I love staying organized with all my gear. These pods, along with the Alpaca boxes are perfect. I have a few now and love everything about them. I like them better than the REI offering because the sides are rigid and hold their shape better than the REI pods, which I invested in before these came out. The mesh top allows things to breathe and dry.

Seems like a good quality product

Received free product

It seems like a sturdy and useful product, but I'm not entirely sure what it's best used for. I thought it might be too small to hold anything substantial, when I first got it, but it seems to fit a surprising amount of stuff. In the attached photos, I put in hiking pants, a sun hoodie, a flannel, a rain shell, and wool socks. It fits well and there's still some room to spare.

Sturdy, Quality Made Oranization!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Alpaca brand for their sturdy, quality-made organizational products! This 10 liter gear pod is collapsible to store when not in use but then has the most sturdy walls and padded bottom for when your needing to pack items for a hike, traveling, or anything else you may need to tote items for. The dual-zippered top and thick, quality-made handle makes this pod look and feel like it will last a lifetime, hence their lifetime guarantee on their products!! The mesh top makes your items/gear easily visible and it holds so much! I will always stand behind this brand!

Helpful in organizing camping supplies in backpack

Received free product

I expected to use this pod in my duffle bag for general travel. However, I ended up using it to store smaller camping items in my backpack. When backpacking, I dislike having lots of small items loose in the pack as I think that is a hassle to load and unload. The gear pod was very helpful in addressing that issue. I was able to store my campstove, utensils/plates, and some smaller soft items with plenty of room. The pod easily fit into my backpack and still left for other items. The pod seems well built and sturdy. I liked the vented top, which helped prevent moisture retention.

Sturdy, Roomy, Outstanding Quality

We ordered a combination or two Pod 10 and four Pod 5 to fit in one of the gear boxes. They have a solid structure and all fit nicely to help organize of camping gear. The sturdy mesh lets you see inside, but doesn’t collapse when stacked on top of each other. The top handles lets you grab the pod that’s needed. There is a loop at the top so you can hang it from a carabiner. Much better quality than I was expecting.
