Very Good Trail Cap with one Qualification
This is a very good cap. It's pretty light weight (about 2 oz); there are lighter hats out there, but this seems to strike good balance between durability and weight. My only complaint is with the strap. There's no way to secure it, so if your head is small, the strap just dangles down and taps your neck. If you flip your hat around, the strap dangles and taps your nose. My work around is to push the dangling portion inside the cap, but it still comes loose and starts to dangle again.
New hat, different fit
Similar to previous reviews, I love my old version of this hat, but the new one does not fit the same way. My old one fit better than almost any hat I’ve ever had, and is super durable and easy to throw in packs, dry bags, etc. The new one is simply a smaller hat, and I’m unable to adjust it to fit like the original. I reeaally hope it stretches out a bit but if not ill be returning it and trying to find a new favorite hat.. ugh. It feels like a tight sock on my head and rides higher than the previous one. Please bring back the older style fit, or make the new one a S/M, and make a larger size to accommodate bigger heads!
Extremely Dissapointed.
This was meant to be a replacement for the exact same had purchased years ago. The changes are terrible. Elasticity in the adjustment strap will not allow proper tight fit. Loop at the end of the strap is too small to fit around the buckle & just dangles on the back of your neck. The hat was perfect before. It wasn't broke & they tried to fix it, and broke it. Return incoming.
Be cautious if the color is important to you
The color “Desert Sand” is actually deep brown (much darker than on the web site). The hat otherwise appears the same quality as my old and favorite go to. Return postage is nearly $8.00, making this an expensive ball cap.
Please bring back the original cap
I left mine in a rental car. It was my favorite cap of all time which traveled with me everywhere. It was heavier, more of a denim type fabric. It had the perfect amount of structure and the crown held it's shape and added a slight amount of height. The strap was perfect and on the newer iteration, the strap doesn't even hold it's position. What a disappointment and what a loss. Why can't a company stick with something that works? If there are any used ones or old versions out there I'd love to know. Charcoal gray.
Initial Impressions - No issues, but..
My initial impression of this hat is that it is nice quality and lightweight. My head is about 60 cm and the strap has about 2" of "play". I can see why this annoys those with smaller noggins as the strap will bounce around when you're running or doing something other than walking. I kept the tag just incase it doesn't work out.
Horrible strap
Hat is comfortable and the material is quite nice. Brim feels hefty in a good way as well. The downside is that the strap is horrible. After adjusting there is nowhere to store the excess, so it just dangles. Had to return within the day I got it.
So good I bought it twice
I recently lost one of these hats that I'd had for years and always liked. The replacement is just as good. I'm a little perplexed by the comments about the back strap end hanging loose. Both copies of mine have had keeper loops that keep the end of the strap in place. Maybe this is missing from some of them.
Excellent Lightweight Cap
Well made cap. Lightweight, durable construction and easy to adjust the fit. Perfect for running, hiking or just sun protection. Highly recommend.
good hat with poor strap design.
The look and fit are good. But the dangling sizing strap is a real design flaw. I have never experienced this problem before. It should be fixed and when I would like to get a replacement from Khule on their tab.
