Decline of Material and Elastic Quality

They changed the material and the elastic waistband on these shorts. The material isn’t as soft as the past material used. The waistband elastic stretches to a certain point and stops, making them annoying to pull up, and annoying to pull down to use the bathroom (I’m a guy btw), I own 6 pairs of these shorts (old version) already, and literally wear them every day. I love them. I noticed they weren’t available to order and was bummed. So, when I saw they were restocked I ordered 2 more. That’s when I found out they changed the material and elastic. I don’t dislike them enough to go through the return process, but I will not be ordering again.

changed the size of the waistband

I have four pairs of these shorts from over the years. I live in these shorts all summer, rock climbing and fly fishing, cause I'm a school teacher and I don't really get paid well but I live in my truck and dirtbag hard all summer. Well I got a new pair to replace one of the pairs that is on its last leg. I've always been a medium. Now a medium is too big at the waist. But a small is too short at the legs. Short like boxer shorts short, not stylish or rock climbing compatible short. The redesign / refit is no good! what'd you do, Prana? Now I'm gonna have to find a new pair of shorts cause the mojo's (which were near-perfect) are no good.

Great shorts, don't last

I've owned many a pair over the years and live in them all summer. They are great for climbing and running and dry fast after jumping in the river/lake on a hot day. When the sun goes down I can throw pants over them and the flat waistband remains comfortable. However, the quality of the elastic band seems to have deteriorated in the newer iterations. They typically last 1 year before the elastic is so worn that they cannot be used anymore. Now I have a sad collection of old mojo shorts with a non-elastic waistband that is 3 sizes bigger than the original.. I wish I could send them in and have the waistband replaced instead of ordering new ones.

Owned these for 8+ years

I've spent countless nights in these at the climbing gym, at the crag, hiking, but especially for backpacking. I wear these for overnight trips and 250 milers (same pair everyday day) so I've seen them in action.MY FAVORITE PAIR OF SHORTS for anything outdoors, I own 4 of them...BUT sometime in the last few years they changed the cut/design of the shorts and the new design isn't nearly as comfortable, (shorter and narrower through the legs and butt). My brother-in-law says the same thing, and he refuses to buy any new ones because of it.I bought a new pair, but I still wear the old ones every time. PLEASE CHANGE THEM BACK PRANA

Great Shorts, but quality has degraded over the years

I've been purchasing the Mojo Short for the last 15 years and have seen the quality degrade over time. The quality in the elastic band is horrible. I typically purchase 2-3 at a time knowing that the band will degrade and start falling apart. The shorts are very versatile and can be used for just about everything. The shorts are great for swimming, hiking, gym wear, lounging, etc. The one pet peeve besides the elastic band are the depth of the pockets. The pockets used to be deep and accommodating, but they changed them a few years ago. I don't know how you are supposed to comfortably fit anything in them anymore.

Nice shorts for many activities

Size S in on par with other prAna offerings but closer to many other brands' M, once you figure that out these fit well. (I'm 5'10", 165 lbs., 32" pant inseam, larger butt/thighs) I could wear a M as well but the waist is a bit loose for my liking. Had mine for a year and they've held up great, material seems very durable. Waist stretches a lot and is comfy but the material of the rest of the short does not stretch. Even without stretch the shorts haven't hindered mobility for me thanks to the inseam not being too long (falls about 1.5" above my knee). If you're looking for more stretch I highly recommend the super mojo shorts from prAna while these seem more durable overall.

Great Shorts, Odd Sizing

Great shorts overall. The material feels great, is light, dries quick, never stains, and lasts a long time.Fitment is a big issue for me, though. I've owned about 10 pairs of these through the years. Pair to pair sizing varies widely. I measured 6 pairs of my 'large' shorts and they varied from 32.5 to 35 inches. That kind of range makes it frustrating to find ones that fit.Over the years I lost a few pounds, but I swear the overall sizing has changed too. Now I have to wear a 'medium'. That works fine on the waist, but the shorts end up a lot shorter too, which I dislike.

Wonderful light weight shorts

These shorts are super light weight and dry really quickly. These characteristics come in really helpful during hot and sweaty athletic pursuits. They are also relatively cool wearing. They seem to run smaller than the Vaha or Sutra shorts, and the material does not stretch much at all, so these are boarder line small on me. If you are familiar with your sizing in these other Prana shorts, I would go up a size in these. Also, it may be because they are a little small on me, but it would really be best if these shorts had a mesh liner. Great shorts overall though.

Love at first site on more than one occasion.

Great shorts that allow full range of motion, resist the stink and are very comfortable. The only complaint is that since I began wearing these my spotter and my scrotum have gotten to know each other a little too well. It started on this juggy overhanging route with many heel hooks and high feet. You could say it was love at first site and the more I climb the more serious it gets. I'm all for romance, and I really don't want to get between them, but I can't really help it. Perhaps an option for inseam length like the Zion shorts have would be a good idea.

Awesome pants

These pants are super awesome, super durable, and high quality materials, and I love the simple black design, it's the nicest looking pair of athletic shorts I've ever had and a super durable material. I use these personally for working out in the woods, crawling around, climbing trees and rocks, swimming, and such. They are super durable and hold up to all of those things great and dry super super quick. That being said they are also not too good in the stretch department, I would never bring these pants actual rock climbing because there is a limit to how far they go, but they are perfect for casual climbing of trees and such and they are my go to workout pants since my workouts are on trees rocks mud dirt water and everything.
