Cute lightweight hiking shoes. The ankles were a little tight and uncomfortable for me, otherwise they’re comfortable. Although there isn’t a lot of cushion. If you like to feel the trail and go fast these would be the shoes for you. I don’t think they’d be good on really rocky terrain. I hiked with them in easier terrain and they did fine.
I absolutely love my new hiking boots. First off - the way they look. I'm loving the grey and white color scheme and they look plush and cushy (not too technical like a lot of other boots with these types of features). Now for performance - it beats others out of the park! They are super comfortable. They literally fit my feet like a perfect glove - providing the right amount of support but also giving me a feel like I'm walking on air. The mid cut is perfect for both long strenuous (5 hours plus) hikes as well as lighter hikes. It's totally waterproof and keeps my feet dry in wet conditions but doesn't feel too hot and unbearable like some other Gore-tex shoes I've had in the past. And whatever is in the soles is just right - it gives me the right grip and bounce in my step even as I'm going up tough terrain and Really loving these shoes and am exploring getting the low cut version as well. Definitely recommend!
I want to preface by saying I love Salomon trail shoes. I was so hopeful that these would translate all the pros about the trail shoes I love and just add some ankle support and a little more upper protection. It got close, but I think they could be better. I took these bad boys out on a super rainy day in the PNW to test them against it all - rocks, mud, puddles, etc. mostly good! Like the grip was amazing - as expected. The biggest flaw for me was how short the ankle part is… like it looks like a normal boot that would allow for the laces to go up, but it doesn’t. The shoe extends upwards, but the laces don’t follow. Instead, the lace hooks are lower and just over the top of your foot, but not really going up the ankle. In my opinion, this left me with less support around where I expected it and made it just a taller shoe.
I went for a walk/hike in the snow wearing these, and as someone whose feet wants more cushion as they’re getting older, these are a dream. Great traction too! I don’t totally love the colors, but I’m not terribly picky with that since they will get dirty once I start summer and swing season hiking in them. Comfort, durability, and functionality are at the top of my list and these fit the bill!
These boots are a fantastic fit. True to size, wide comfortable toe box. I wore them hiking trails in Florida. They were very comfortable, no blistering, very flexible yet very supportive on the ankle. In the rain my feet stayed completely dry. I was not big on so much white on the shoe, I felt like it makes my feet look huge...lol, but you cannot beat these boots for comfort and that's what's most important on the trail.
Love these shoes! Love the design and how comfortable they are. Wore them for the first time on a 9 hour shift that’s mostly standing and my feet felt great after. Great to hike around in, and have pretty good traction. Would say they fit a little bigger for the most part. I believe i went down a half size or full.
Comfortable and light on hiking trails; grippy over wet boulders and scrambles. Solid enough not to feel rocks underfoot, but light enough to reach for walking the dog on rainy days. I really appreciate that the toe box allows for healthy toe splay, but the fit isn't sloppy. My foot measures as a 7.5 but I buy 8 in running and hiking boots to accommodate slight bunions. The 8 in these has ample room in the width and height of toe box. These are my new favorite hiking boots - and I have tried many!
These shoes are so light weight, and still have surprisingly good tread and great sturdy ankle support! They’re kind of chunky looking but it’s not an issue when they’re so light on my feet. I wore them on a wet trail in Kentucky and they were good in mud and gravel. I expect when I wear them on longer treks they will be super comfortable for long distances.
I tested these shoes out on a dry rocky trail in Southern California hoping they could serve as a lighterweight option to my Quest 4s. But as I navigated various elevation changes with loose gravel and dirt the grip wasn't strong enough and I slipped multiple times and even fell once. Overall the shoes are comfortable and I initially liked them, but with the lack of grip, I wouldn't recommend them especially if you're in wet conditions or unsure of your footing. Also, I found the tongue of the shoe a bit hard to close, and depending on the weather, it may be challenging to keep your feet dry. Considering how expensive these are it's a bummer they're more like a walking shoe.
Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We always strive to improve! Your feedback has been helpful for us!
I was skeptical at first when decided to buy this pair of Salomon boots. I was a long time Keen fans but after several disappointing purchases in the past few years, I decided to give Salomon a try. Boy, I was impressed. I tried wearing it for the first time for a 9 mile hike, with lots of rocks, which is normal in Northern Utah. I did not get any blisters. The boots gave me just the right amount of cushion, it is lightweight, not too narrow or too wide. It has good grips even my husband said that this is the first time he saw me hiking without looking I was about to fall too many times lol. If there is one thing I would say could be better is the tongue - it does not close as tight as I wanted it to be. But overall, I gave this pair of boots 5 starts. I hope it will last for a long time!
