Mixed Feelings
This shirt is very cute. I own it in purple and khaki/cream. I like the weight, breathabilty and the functional pockets. It fits and feels good. True to size and lightweight. I typically wear a medium to large in tops. I bought a large in these shirts and they fit perfect. A little loose with no clinging or bulging at the buttons. Speaking of buttons, these are my favorite feature on the shirt. They are snaps instead of standard buttons. You can quickly snap/unsnap this shirt without fuss. Also, the shirt dries very quickly...faster than any quick dry shirt I own! Now for the drawbacks...the material is somewhat fragile. Not only does it pill and snag, it's only UPF rated for 10 washings. I've worn my shirt for a day hike and a 3-day backpacking trip. After my first time wearing it with just a day pack, it was balled up along the shoulder straps and where the backpack rubbed. It also has a couple of snags. It's still very usable, but I have never had this happen with my other hiking shirts. As for the UPF rating, I'm not sure why it's only good for 10 washes. I know that the UPF rating naturally decreases over time as clothes age, stretch out and wear down. 10 washings seems like a short life span. I have yet to put these shirts in the dryer. I air dry them since dryers can be harsh on clothes. I have only worn the purple one so far. I'm going to dedicate it to hiking with a pack since it's already taken a beating, but I'll wear the khaki/cream one for outdoor activities that don't require a backpack.
Beautiful shirt, Only good for 10 washes???
I got the khaki two-color. Shirt looks great but I was disappointed to read the tag that says its SPF40 rating lasts 10 washes. Also, it's short. I am fine with that but be aware. $90 shirt, ten washes? :(
Cute for outdoors
This is cute for going on outdoor adventures just a little heavy can wear it as a cardigan or a shirt
very very good, but
This is a very nice long sleeve shirt for winter, good for layering. My wife loves it. She did not know that the north face logo was displayed on it. I suppose that is to let the whole world know you buy overpriced brands.
Dermatologist recommended
I have some skin cancer that is being treated and I bought these shirts because of that. However I wasn't expecting to really like them as much as I do. They look great and wash and dry without ironing. The snaps instead of buttons is terrific. They are lightweight and don't hold heat like I thought. The length is perfect! I am 5'4" and wear a size 10 I bought a medium. The length on the bottom is about 3 inches below my belly button. I bought blue, purple, and two toned honey/light beige.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHIRT!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really comfortable shirt with perfect fabric. The soft stretchy material has a fluid drape which allows for comfortable movement with just about any activity you want to enjoy. The shorter length is just perfect. I am 5'1", my friend is 5" 7" and it falls perfectly at the mid hip for both of us. The sleeves are a little long, but this is easily remedied with folding it over. I would love to see many more solid earthy, natural colors such as olive green, rust brown, black, and navy. The solid purple color is much more attractive than the color block variation in the tan and khaki color shirt. The price is really high as compared to your competitors who use identical fabrics. At this price point I would expect it to me made in the USA rather than Vietnam, and other savvy shoppers will also note this.
Not worth your money
This shirt comes with a tag that says that the sun protection is only good for up to 10 washes. That is ridiculous!
Very lightweight and I like the shorter, more cropped cut
Great for fieldwork
I bought this shirt to wear doing field work in very hot, dry weather. It does great and keeps me cool! I usually wear small or medium in tops, and the small fits well and comfortably. The fit is relaxed so it is boxy and feels slightly cropped. I really like the pockets and the snap closure.
Flattering, design, shape and color
This is a light-weight yet soft fabric in a rich color. It can be worn as a shirt or over-shirt. I like the cropped length and it washes well, tumble-dry low, or hang to dry and it’s almost instantly dry. Great hiking or travel top.
