70 L Double Haul

I bought one of these awesome bags for a 7 day fishing trip to Mammoth and a 7 day trip deep into the Golden Trout Wilderness to catch Golden Trout and my bag was carried by mule. It easily swallowed everything with room to spare and showed no signs of wear. Upon returning I bought 2 more for future trips and adventures. Highly recommend this bag!

Love the durability and versatility of this bag!

Had the bag for a few months now and am very impressed so far. Being able to use the bag in different configurations has made it very versatile. From regular travel in duffel mode to using it as a tote and being able to hold everything my family of 4 needs for mountain biking (shows, helmets, water bottles, and packs). It also seems strong and durable. In the past I have been using the bags made from a heavy PVC tarpaulin material and the double wall bag seems similarly burly. As a joke my 75 lb son sat in the bag while in tote mode and I picked it up with him in it and the bag held no problem, so I think it will serve me well for years to come.

Switched to this from 100L

I originally ordered the 100L double haul during the last REI sale and packed it with a few things just to test it out. The 100L was way too big for me to carry as a 5’2” woman. I returned it and tried to find a duffel that I liked better but then decided to take a chance on the 70L double haul during the annual sale. I’m so glad I did because it’s perfect, easily fits 50lbs worth of clothes and toiletries to act as a checked bag while still being easy to carry. Also fits on top of a rolling luggage if you have two bags to check. I love the opening and that it’s so easy to see inside the bag. The interior on the black color is grey so it’s not like looking into a black hole. Love the versatility and quality of this bag and I can see getting a lot of use out of it!

Super versatile and perfect for travel

I brought the Double Haul to Japan and was really impressed with how versatile it turned out to be. The backpack straps were a lifesaver in the Japanese subway system, where escalators are few and far between…being able to throw it on my back made navigating stations way easier. It held up well as a checked bag on the flight and packed everything I needed without feeling bulky. Once at camp, the tote feature made it easy to carry gear back and forth without having to dig through everything. Overall, it’s one of those bags that adapts to whatever you’re doing. Great for travel, camping, and everything in between!

This bag is a car campers dream!

It's amazing how much gear you can fit in this duffle! I can fit my entire shelter and sleep system in here, along with a couple Moonlight Elite chairs and the Moonlander table. The internal zippered pocket keeps my smaller items like batteries and headlamps organized and secure. The ease of converting to backpack mode is also appreciated when carrying from the car to the campsite while leaving your hands free to grab other things. The only small negative for me is that the storage pouch for the duffel is separate piece and not a stowable pocket built into the bag itself, so it's something that can get lost if you aren't paying attention. Other than that it's all love here!

Best multi purpose bag I own

I could go on and on about why I love this bag but let me give you the slim down version. The tote is probably my favorite feature for quick trips. The straps are amazingly comfortable to carry in your hand or shoulder. The opening is so massive it makes it easy to see everything. It packs enormous amounts of gear. Think triathlon training weekend. I literally threw everything into this one bag for swim bike run and it all fit no problem. Add pickleball paddles and water bottles. I quickly converted it to the backpack mode to travel to the lake. I'll bring this on every trip

I feel so fancy!

After a year of guiding using a cheap second-hand target duffel, it was time for an upgrade. This duffle has everything I wanted: convertible to a backpack, durable fabric in a unique color. Plus it had the added bonus of also working as a tote bag to haul even more gear. I use the bag it came in as a dirty clothes bag, so another plus on trips. I wish it had one long over the shoulder strap, so I deduced one star. Otherwise, this is a great duffel and I can finally carry all the gear I need for a four day camping/hiking trip in ONE bag with plenty of room to spare.

Great, except …

Self-professed gear junkie, here. Didn’t need another duffel, but sure wanted this one. Like all my other Nemo purchases — Fillo elite lux & king x2, Tensor extreme, Dragonfly Osmo, Moonlight elite x2 — the design, materials, and assembly are all top notch. My only dissatisfaction, which is slight, is that the opening does not really “stay wide while you pack.” In my experience, the duffel needs to be at least a third full for the mouth to stay wide open. I would not have been disappointed by this, because I don’t expect duffels to stay wide open when empty, but for the product description specifically touting that it would. Not a deal breaker at all; far from it. Just a bit of over-promising and under-delivering, in my experience.

It's my everything bag!

Car camping? Load it all in. I particularly enjoy finding "walk-in" tent sites that allow a bit more privacy and often have better views, so having something that can carry all my stuff to the site in one trip to be incredibly helpful (stargazer chair, anyone?) It's also great after backpacking to be able to open up my sleeping bag and tent in the car, while still keeping them contained. The tote straps really are a game changer. I don't regret selling my Black Hole!

Do it all duffel

I never thought I would get excited about using a duffel bag, but this duffel is actually amazing. As soon as I opened it, I could tell that a lot of thought went into it. I love that it has a few pockets for organizing smaller items, and the main compartment's stiffened trusses that keep the bag open while you're packing it is a feature that I didn't know I needed. It makes it SO much easier to pack, and now all other duffels seem lackluster and kind of annoying to use. I'm petite, so the backpack straps (which are well padded) and the tote handles help me to more comfortably carry large loads. I'm a travel photographer, so durability is always on my mind when using any kind of luggage. This material feels quite sturdy and I can tell it'll hold up for many, many years. Overall I'm super psyched by this bag, and it's become my go-to.
