Close but not quite right!
In my search for the perfect pair of shorts, I thought I’d found them with the Live Free model. However, after washing I discovered a fatal flaw. The finished edge inside the waistband folds up and is really annoying. I wore them today and kept feeling like I needed to smooth it down. I’m not sure why they built them this way but it really detracts from a great product. The fabric, fit, and style are great. It’s just the construction that brings them down. I was planning on buying every color, but won’t until that is fixed. I guess my search goes on!
Love the shorts but stitching issues
I have a huge fan of Duer pants and shorts. The recent purchase of the Live Lite Short there was an issue with the stitching around the fly. The fly area was not stitched and there was a hole along the seam. I filled out a return form, but it was too big of a hassle to send them back and pay for shipping (even though the item came damaged). So I ended up getting out my needle and thread and hand stitched the fly seam so I could just wear them. I do love the shorts! I have 6 pairs of pants and love all of them. The fabric is incredible soft and breathable. Overall I would highly recommend anything from Duer.
Mostly Good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finding a pair of shorts that fit right is hard. These fit good. But two ways they can be better would be an inch longer and something odd happens to the bottom hem area after washing. Yes in low heat. I have to run a quick iron across the bottom to flatten them out. Not sure if thread is shrinking.
Great Fit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are a terrific fit (I'm 5'10 and 200lbs) at a 34 and the other pair I got at a 33 work just as well. I really like how, as a somewhat bigger guy, these don't make me look any wider/blockier than they have to to fit me. (many shorts I buy in a decent-fitting waist size seem to have twice the material in the legs that these do). They are comfortable to the point that I never think about them all day while wearing them. They look good dressed up with a belt and tucked polo but the 7" inseam also looks just fine with an untucked tee.

Very pleased
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really appreciate the cut in the legs. They are loose enough to have a bit of cooling airflow, but slim and trim enough that they don't flare out and seem skirt-like or kilt-like. The fabric is soft and stretchy, and seems lighter than the no-sweat style. I got then in three colors. The red is a nice deep rich clay hue, not at all garish. Thyme is not overly green, and works like a grayish neutral. Little details here and there indicate quality design and construction. This is one (of many) Americans who appreciate and value our good neighbors to the north!
Classic cotton summer shorts
These classic cotton shorts are exactly what I thought they would be. I am glad I bought them. Everyone needs a pair of these for their summer closest.
Wonderful shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the fit and appreciate that the fabric is not so 'polyester-y'. The leg fit is tighter than many other shorts (but not too tight) - it's what drew ke to these shorts.I've been losing weight so i'm a bit between sizes and the stretchiness of the fabric makes them fit nicely in the waist.Main drawback is that they do get a bit wrinkled after wash & hang-dry, but that goes away soon after wearing.
