Mountain Hardwear  Stryder Swim Shorts - Women's

I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I like the fit of these shorts overall. They are a bit in the looser side, which becomes a bit exaggerated in the water and isn't necessarily the most flattering. They are very functional. They stay in place nicely and provide good modesty. I do not love the citron color but would wear these in black or another color that matches my suits better.

Unfortunately these did not work for my body type or skin color. I anticipated the dark citron to be closer to a mustard yellow, but it has green/brown undertones that blend into my skin. The length is also not quite long enough to prevent poofing in the crotch area so therefore it's not very flattering. I do like the waterproofness of the material and it's nice to have a pair of swim trunks without the liner. But not providing a picture as it is very unflattering. I don't need to look fancy on the trail, but also there could be better color options for women fits!

I’m pleasantly surprised at the performance of these shorts in and out of the water! I was concerned that once wet, it would be see-through. Nope! Great coverage there. It didn’t sag or drag in the water during swimming either. They’re lightweight and don’t hold water once I was out of the water. They start drying fast. I wore them with a bathing suit. But I would feel comfortable wearing them without. The shorts also work well as outside/casual shorts. They bunched a teeny bit in the front when I was walking around outside. But that’s because I sized up, thinking they would be too small. They run true to size so order your regular size. I love the citron color—looks great against my skin! The only thing that would have made these perfect are built-in panties. But we can’t have all the things! :) Overall, this is a great product.

Nice shorts!! This fabric is awesome! It's durable enough to take hiking and camping, but light enough to dry quite quickly once you go in that glacial lake, or more commonly for me, for rafting. I am satisfied that the material has a good UPF rating, but I'm not sure it matters considering these are about 3" long from the crotch. To test these I took them into the shower to feel them when wet. Still comfy. In the winter Colorado sun with very low humidity, these dried outside in less than 10 minutes. Inside on a sunny widow ledge more like 17 minutes from soaking wet. These shorts have 3 pockets, which I am usually a fan of, but because the shorts are so short I could have done without the side pockets. They splay open a little along my hips, which could be a sizing thing, but they also aren't as functional because the shorts are so short. I might see them shut and keep the back zipper pocket. Overall recommend!! Great color too!!

I'm so far enjoying the versatility of these shorts! The fit is flattering which I at times struggle with, as I am short and have wider legs. I liked that the leg openings accommodated that. The material seems to wick moisture quickly and effectively and there is a zippered pocket on the back, which I thought was a nice added touch in case you have orders final belongings that you don't want to lose! The front pockets are sufficient. The green color, to be honest, doesn't match much in my personal wardrobe but could work nicely with other palettes, could just be a me problem. All in all, I'd say these are high on my favorite shorts list for the summer.

I wear these every week to swim lessons with my daughter to have a little more coverage during the active classes when we are in the water with her. They fit really well. They run true to size and have a nice thick waist band. They didn’t bunch up even when they were wet and we got out of the pool. I didn’t love the citron color as it is mustardy and washes me out. The water totally beads up on them (see pic!!) which is great- they do take forever to dry. They are going to be great for kayak days when the weather warms up and we are in shorts again.

These shorts are great! I brought them on a trip to Southeast Asia and they got a workout. They can do a lot more than just be a bathing suit. I wore them multiple days in a row and they didn't smell even though I was sweating a ton. The fabric dries faster than my bathing suit, although the waistband takes longer to dry than the fabric on the legs. Because they dry quickly, they're easy to wash in the sink in a pinch. They're even good for climbing in the heat, which surprised me because I have the ones with the 3" inseam and I didn't think the legs of the shorts would stay put under my harness, but somehow they did. The side pockets are nice and roomy and could comfortably hold my giant phone as long as I wasn't doing anything especially athletic - walking around was totally fine. For sizing - I'm 5'8" and about 135 pounds and size small fit well.

I was looking for a pair of water shorts for my kayaking day. These shorts fit great and are comfortable while sitting. I purchased a size S, and for reference, I am 125 lbs, just under 5'4. This pair is perfect for a day of water activities. I thought the leg opening was too wide at first, but that's what made it comfortable for sitting on a kayak for 2+ hours. The back pocket on the right rear has a zipper closure, and two side pockets are deep.

I love these swim shorts. They have three pockets but only one has a zipper which is vital as swim shorts. They have a loose fit with plenty of room. The citron color is appealing and unique. These work great as beach or pool attire but even great for hiking and other summer activities outdoors.

I love these shorts, I had them last summer season in real color and they were my go-to everyday. Perfect for beach days, they dry off quickly and are super comfortable. I’m 5 4” and about 130lbs, size XS fits perfect and size S is good too but a little larger on my waist/thighs.
