No Difference for Sweaty Men
Luckily I had a gift cert and a clearance as I would never ever buy an $85 t-shirt of my own accord. I’ve read a ton of reviews and rankings to find the best moisture-wicking shirts out there and this was basically a consensus #1, but I’m here to tell you that it is no different than a cotton tee. Odor resistance? Oh, you have a winner there, my friend. But I’m soaking wet from a 3-mile run in the 70 degree heat of a Georgia morning and there ain’t nothing I’ve worn yet that wicks or dries quickly in the GA summer. Enjoy Nebraska’s flatlands and mild summers, but don’t boast about sweat-wicking until a hairy overweight middle-aged Dad has test driven your stuff in these Georgia conditions.

Developed holes after 2-3 uses
I was surprised that the shirt developed several holes around the waist area after 2 or 3 uses. I only used it untucked and never wore it with a backpack, so I’m unsure what happened. Honestly, I’m more frustrated that REI would not exchange it or take it back. Called it “wear and tear”. For an $80 shirt I would except more.

Little scratchy.

Bought this with points as a first-time buyer of a merino wool t-shirt as I was unsure of the cost-benefit. It is very light weight, wicks perspiration/dries quickly and did not have an odor, despite heavy perspiration. The only downside for me personally was the material was scratchy (on a scale of 1-5, I would give it a 2). I am normally sensitive to hot temperatures and being in an environment where the heat runs around 80+ degrees, I did not feel that this regulated heat very well. Will be taking with me traveling to a much colder environment this October, where I do so much better, and based on current the weight, wicking properties and no odor will probably be good for travel.

Another wonderful Icebreaker.

I have the Icebreaker 200 and 125 short sleeve shirts for hiking. This 150 is all Merino, so a little less stretchy than the 125 but a bit lighter than the 200. I love these shirts. They are warm, dry quickly and don’t stink.

Quality that may last years

I bought this shirt to replace the other I have worn for about eight years as an undershirt when wearing my yellow Nomex Fire shirt. It held its color and shape 10x longer than any cotton shirt and I can tell just by putting it on that it’s much cooler when it’s hot outside and even when wet is warmer when cold outside. The fit was normal and wears like an everyday t shirt. I will continue using these shirts and recommend them to anyone who works hard, enjoys the outdoors or just wants to invest in a quality product that will last for years

Amazing shirt, but they changed the fit.

My old "Mens Tech Lite Short Sleeve Crewe" is the best shirt I've ever owned. Seriously. 10 stars out of 5. I would switch my entire closet over if I could. I ordered 2 more of this newer version and sadly the fit is completely different. The newer ones are shorter length and smaller over all. Close to a full size smaller (but not quite). I can't speak to the durability of the new one as I had to pass these onto someone else who is smaller. I really wish I could replace the old one... For reference, I'm 6'1" and a somewhat slim 175. I'm often between sizes, but the old medium was perfect. In this new version, I'm between sizes and neither the medium nor large fit. Sad for me, but congrats(?) to all the people slightly smaller and slightly larger than I am.

Anti-Stink is real

I have always heard merino is anti stink and never really bought the hype. Well I do now! I wore this shirt for a full month off and on and only just washed it. Gross? Well in a polyester or cotton shirt yes…but this shirt truly is amazing. My significant other is hyper sensitive to smells and this passed the smell test over and over and over. I didn’t wear it in extremely sweaty tasks so I can speak to that, but for everyday wear it’s perfect. It’s classy looking and yet comfortable enough to lounge in. I will admit it may be a little scratchy if you are very sensitive to wool but again, wore this thing for a month! No real issues for me. Now I have a thermal tee from Smartwool that is a little softer but I have to say at this price point and quality I would absolutely recommend. Just let me grab two more when they come in stock! Then you all can have the rest :)

Very comfortale

very comfortable and light. have used it for hiking, light exercise, as a sleep shirt, and base layer. so far no funk and has held up to a few washes. not scratchy or itchy. fit isn't too tight but I size up like I do for most wool shirts. Pay attention to the size chart. so far no shrinking when washed on cold. hasn't gotten soggy during wear. No pilling so far. You can wear this anywhere you would your normal tee.

Amazing quality

These shirts are amazing! They were a christmas gift for my husband and he uses them all year around. I love how they don't look too sporty, so he can wear for outdoor activities or for casual dates! I'll be buying him more in every color since they are regularly in the rotation. He even wears to work and says that they are super soft. No issues with snags or rips either. Not too tight. It's a great product!

Poor quality and durability.

poor quality, shirt ripped with a slight tug on the sleever after just the third time worn. You really have to be careful with the care of this material, it has a gauze like feel. Very light and comfortable, but just far to fragile for outdoor use; especially for anything like backpacking . The SmartWool equivilent t-shirts are far better made and very durable and even more comfortable.
