This cooler is a beast!
While the magnets were a bit strong for me, this cooler is a beast and got beat up badly and STILL held all of our contents and kept it cold! Sad to have to be buying a new one, but happy to know that it is money well spent.
Best beverage cooler
Being out on the boat, minimizing the footprint of the beverage cooler is important. I’ve had every style of the hopper since it came out and this one seems to be the best. The new magnet opening is the key on this one and out of the box it does stay open on its own. Makes loading and grabbing a beer much easier. From an aesthetic view point, the black is nice but I wish from a functionality standpoint they could figure out a white or very light grey to reflect some UV/sunlight rather than absorb it. I know that results in scuffs and marks that people would complain about so understand why it’s not out (yet).
Just Right
I have had 2 variations of this same cooler. The latest is the greatest. I love the new simpler opening that stays open! Used in conjunction with larger and smaller yeti coolers it really shines. It can be king of a group of smaller coolers or the small cooler used with a larger hard cooler. As I age the idea of anything bigger than 45 liters is just too much to move around. My latest strategy is a grouping of easier to move coolers that fit more places and this big boy can squeeze in about anywhere.
LOVE IT!!
Bought this almost a year ago in coral….love the color and get so many compliments. Took it to the beach and ice stayed mostly frozen all day in the scorching sun. For those that complain it’s difficult to keep open or load clearly aren’t worthy of the Yeti brand. We just shove a can of soda or beer in the top and grab what we need and it snaps closed. Easy to load if you stick two cans on top of each other and make a bigger opening. Have zero problem opening one handed. If you fully load it with ice and drinks it can get heavy but what cooler isn’t. Best purchase I’ve made and love the cooler, use it all the time!
Poor insulation compared to original
Purchased Hopper M30 after original Hopper 40 zipper failed. There’s no comparison. The 40 was a very well constructed, exceptionally efficient cooler with the design flaw in the zipper. The M30 is well constructed, but uses a different inferior insulation that doesn’t come close to the performance of the original 40. Did a side by side comparison using identical frozen bottles. The M30 lasted approx 22 hours, the original 40 lasted 43 hours. It appears the designers substituted an interior insulation (feels like a hard foam) to increase profits compared to the softer almost gel like insulation in the original. Very disappointed given Yeti’s reputation and quality of construction.
Perfect cooler bag
Bought this for my husband for Christmas but gave it to him early because I was excited about it! HUGE cooler bag but so durable and roomy to fit our drink/foodstuffs needs
Best soft pack cooler on the market
Keeps ice long, comfortable should strap, great accessories for the sides, magnetic leak proof seal. Great product and color.
Hollywood Set-Medic
As a set-medic working on a job in the desert I think this cooler may have literally saved some lives. After all the coolers had failed, my M30 kept my crew hydrated and safe from heat exhaustion/stroke. The attached sidekick kept all of my sunscreen and electrolytes handy too. Couldn’t be happier. Only challenge is cleaning due to the magnets. The magnets are STRONG and do a great job sealing the main compartment. I highly recommend the sidekick along with the M30. You won’t regret it.
Can I give it 6 stars?
I've been using this cooler the last 2 months and can't recommend it enough. It's extremely durable, very good looking, and keeps drinks (freezing) cold the entire weekend. I was shocked to see there were still ice cubes in it after 2 days outside. The magnet opening isn't the easiest for loading but I got used to it quickly, usually holding it open with a tall boy can. Also I strap this to the back of my jet ski and it's often a very rough ride going through a crowded river. This thing holds up well and can take a beating, and the Hitchpoint is very sturdy to string a rope through and tie it down.
Worth Every Penny!
I bought the M30 in the River Green color and it met all of my expectations! It kept ice the whole weekend on our flounder gigging trip! I love that the magnets close on there own in case people forget to close it. The tote bag shape makes carrying a lot easier and I’m very pleased with the River Green color. It loosens up the more you use it. Think of it as a baseball glove. I haven’t seen any signs of wear or tear and looks brand new after every time I clean it. I would recommend this product to anyone. I will definitely buy products from Yeti in the future. Keep up the great work Yeti.
