Great shorts now cut smaller and makes me sad.
These are my favorite shorts and I have several pairs which I wear daily. When new colors came out I ordered two. Unfortunately, they are significantly smaller, enough that they may have to be returned. They fit tightly and won’t fit with an extra pound or two.
A LOT nicer than your average cargo shorts!
These shorts are awesome! The fabric is nice and soft with a good bit of stretch to make them incredibly comfortable. Despite having a soft hand the fabric is still moderately durable. I wear these as everyday shorts for the plentiful pockets, yet I have somehow managed to get 2 pulls in the fabric--one on the left side pocket, and 1 on the front of the right thigh. 🫤 Aside from the durability of the fabric, the 6 pockets on these shorts make them incredibly useful! As many others have noted, why do manufacturers think women don't need pockets??? Like REAL pockets that fit an entire hand or an entire smartphone? To those who have complained that their phones fell out of said pockets, were the snaps engaged? Because on both of my pairs these snaps do not pop open easily once snapped--I need to tug on it to open it. 🤷♀️ The cut of the shorts is casual, roomy, yet not at all baggy. They look good, feel good, have useful features, and Kuhl's attention to detail makes them nicer than the average cargo shorts (snaps are covered by fabric, extra large belt loop in the back in case your shorts carry a heavier load, draw string at the waist to help snug it up if needed, pocket material is SEWN and not glued (looking at you, Swoosh brand!) and is as soft as the shorts material). P.S. Dear Kuhl: please consider making at least 1 of the 6 pockets large enough for the largest of smartphones. I don't have one of those giant phones but so many do and could use at least one big pocket. Otherwise, these shorts are as close to perfect as I have been able to find! 👍
Overall excellent shorts
I love the pockets (phone in the cargo pocket, dog treats in the main pocket and room left over for keys and my wallet). The longer length is great, not everyone wants a 3" inseam. Shorts are comfortable, stretchy. I thought maybe they'd stretch TOO much by the end of the day, but unlike another pair I have from elsewhere, these still maintain a good fit after a day's activities. And there's a drawstring, just in case. Good looking shorts, go from hiking to town errands. These are my second pair of Kuhl shorts, first one is a different style, but well worth the price.
Great Shorts
I own several pair of Kuhl shorts (and pants). These are great hiking shorts, which do not look too “cargoish” to wear for non-hiking occasions. The shorts are comfortable, cool, wash well, and look very good without a thought of ironing! The only downside is that the front flap pocket is barely large enough to hold the smallest size iPhone…it is an everlasting mystery to me why women’s shorts do not have pockets large enough to hold a phone!
Pockets only decorative
I purchased these shorts for the pockets which are extremely difficult to find in women's shorts. I lost my cell phone, over a cliff the first time I wore them. This cost me a new phone and I lost my photos etc. Why can't they make women's pants/shorts with pockets big enough for a cell phone?
Thigh pockets way too shallow
Why can’t Kuhl make pants with the same great pockets they used to?! The thigh pockets on the current models, including this one, are too small to hold a larger cellphone. Otherwise these pants are great
Cant go wrong with these shorts
Fit is great. No riding up on thighs. Material is soft and slightly stretchy to allow for flexibility in outdoor activities. Waist is comfortable without being tight . The Cargo pockets arent quite deep enough to hold my Samsung 23+ phone securely. I am 5'4, 122 lbs and have a straight waist and hips.
Comfort with usable pockets
This is the second pair of Kuhl Freeflex shorts I have bought. So comfortable for hiking , gardening, or doing my shopping. I love the deep pockets! Many women’s pants and shorts don’t have usable pockets. These are great! Last year I even wore them as my Forest Service uniform. The length is modest and professional but not restrictive.
Durable and comfortable
There shorts are great. Slightly stretchy, quick to dry, good pockets. I have two pairs -I liked the first ones so much I got another pair.
Shorts are a Winner!
My go-to short. I love the stretch and lightweight feel of these shorts. I have 8 pair, depending on my weight I have various sizes. Overall, accurate sizing except for printed shorts which seem too run small.
