KUHL  Renegade Rock 9" Shorts - Men's

I have been a dedicated buyer of Kuhl products for many years. I've loved every article of clothing of theirs I've purchased and these shorts are no exception. I just returned from a trip to the mountains where hiking was the main focus each day. These shorts performed flawlessly. Super comfortable, no chafing or bunching. The cell phone pocket is just the right size and location for easy access. One tip I'd like to share is if you're on the cusp of the waist size, I'd recommend going to the larger one vs. smaller. They seem to run a touch smaller tan other brands.

Good Kuhl quality, but sized a bit small.

I'm a big fan of Kuhl including their hiking shorts. These are great but for the first time in my experience, they fit a bit small compared to the others I bought a year ago. The next size up would be too big. I'm wondering if they have too much variation in the manufacturing process to control the waist accurately.

The shorts are made of good material and are solidly built, as expected from Kuhl. The design is lacking. The fabric has a 'sheen' to it and its unflattering. The biggest reason for 2-stars? This piece of clothing has the WORST phone pocket I have ever encountered, barely fits my phone (Pixel 8) and the case, which I will not take off the phone just to use a pocket! I returned these as I am not spending this type of money for a pocket I will be annoyed with, nope.

These shorts are very well designed with pockets for everything and the fabric resists wrinkles and looks good. Only problem is that I ordered a size 32 waist consistent with every other pair of pants I own including 4 pairs of Kuhl, each of which fits me fine. These however were so tight around my waist that they were very uncomfortable. Had to exchange for a size 34, so you might want to visit REI and try some on before you buy.

I’m sure these are great quality like their other products, but I didn’t try them on until I got home (since their pants fit me well) and I’m not into the shorts being crotch huggers. Would be nice if they weren’t so tight, maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like walking around with a outline of my package in public (even though I know that’s becoming a popular trend amongst the boys and girls these days). If your in to tight clothing that displays the outline of your genitals, these are for you!

Terrific improvement update for the style of Kuhl shorts I have been wearing for years. I think the only thing that I would change would be to remove the zipper from the right rear pocket. I understand the the function for retaining a wallet or money clip. However, I personally do not like metal on my rear end. Could cause scratches on car fenders etc. Plus it's a pain to zip and unzip. That's just me though.

All around favorite shorts. I wear them all the time. They have all the features I want. Deep front and cell phone pockets. One zippered security pocket. I wish Kuhl would be more diverse in new color availability. The new charcoal blue is very similar to the coastal blue. Would like to see a khaki, light tan, or light grey. When they do, I will purchase more pairs.

These are the shorts version of a pair of Kuhl travel/hiking pants that I really love. Fabric is light weight, comfortable, and a little stretchy. I like the inner waistband of a softer fabric, and the solid metal button closure. Nice deep front pockets, and a secure zippered rear pocket. I've purchased two pair and wear them daily.
