KUHL  Renegade Rock 7" Shorts - Men's

I bought a second pair of these because they worked out so well during several days in Yosemite. Fabric is fairly robust as well as being quick to dry. Good fit on me. I'd call attention to the fact that they don't fit the way they seem to on the model pictured with the Onyx-colored pair, which appear very tight.

These are great. I bought a 32. I'm 5'7", 160 and the legs are short enough. So often, shorts are cut for people who are over 6 feet and the legs cover my knees. The side pocket fits my iPhone 15 Pro! The material feels great. The button closure is metal and not a sewed on button. Those come off. I just bought a second pair.

I've been looking for a good pair of shorts to replace my all-time favorite Kuhl shorts from ten years ago. Finally found it! The design is exactly right - pockets where you want them, a zipper on one back pocket, phone pocket tucked slightly back. The only slightly odd thing is that the front pockets have a different stitching pattern, letting your left thumb wander out of the pocket. No idea why since they're both mesh and it doesn't impact functionality at all. The waistband loosened up slightly after a few days of use.

I received a pair of Kuhl shorts as a gift approximately two years ago. After light use, the elastic thread in the waistband started breaking and coming out. These are not quality shorts and I do not recommend them, I tried contacting Kuhl directly, with photographic evidence, to no avail. Not representative of high quality RI merchandise.

Very comfortable shorts that don't come over or down to your knees

I liked them so much that I took advantage of the REI 20% off voucher and bought a second pair. My original pair I wore while traveling in Mexico including while driving, hiking and just hanging out. A very comfortable short that fits well. Has enough pockets for what I need and they have quickly become my favorite pair of shorts.

Very comfortable, durable and good looking. They are true to size. I would fit a 35" waist better but no one makes that. Wore them on a couple short hikes in Big Bear Lake recently. Surprising light weight and breath real well. Strong and seem like they clean up real well too. Was concerned the 7" inseam might be a bit too short but my wife didn't critique them, so they must be good to go. Kuhl, can't ever seem to go wrong with them.

These shorts feel really well constructed and can handle anything from day-to-day wear to all-day travel. They feel great in cool temps and the hottest, most humid of summer days. Water resistant as well, which makes them great for rainy days. They hit just above the knee, so they don't look like the typical hiking short but provide some of the same functionality and utility while looking good. A great addition to the wardrobe and will likely buy more in different colors.

Everything you expect from Kuhl, great fit, clean functional design, fabric that feels durable (I have several Khul pants that I use every day at work and that are seemingly indestructible). The only reason for the 4 stars (instead of 5) is that the fit around the leg opening is little wide for me, a bit wider than it needs to be, especially for stretch fabric shorts. Other than that, great Kuhl quality shorts.
