We've remade one of our favorite hiking staples with partially recycled fabric. Designed for the trail, the women's REI Co-op Sahara T-shirt stretches, wicks sweat and shades you from the day's rays.

Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Breathable and soft
I've worn this numerous times on 5+ mile hikes and it remains super soft and breathable, plus it doesnt wrinkle. I am typically not a huge lover of womens fit clothing as I don't prefer a slimmer taper, but this gave enough room while still looking sleek, if you want extra room though I would size up. The only thing I will add is it captures sweat and holds onto the smell, but that is nothing a good wash cant fix. Plus, I find the colors to be attractive. Maybe some more neutral tones would be nice though.
Comfortable, UPF 30, quick drying T Shirt
I received size medium in this T-shirt ( for my 5' 7" height, 140 LBS ). My regular size is medium in other brands as well. The T-Shirt washes well,doesn't shrink and has no wrinkles out of the dryer. The size is a bit figure hugging as you can see from the pictures. May be size up if you like your T-Shirts a bit loose . It is not tight , it is comfortable but shows off curves ,if you know what I mean. It is made of polyester ,spandex mix so it is quick drying and moisture wicking , and it has sun protection UPF 30, making it perferct for hiking.
NOT THE SAHARA SHIRT YOU KNOW
If you are looking for the Sahara Shirt that REI sold last season, this IS NOT IT. This looks and feels so thin I was afraid to try it on. The color is beautiful but, on a shirt that feels like it will fall apart after one wash or one stretch is useless, even at $25. I have 3 of the Sahara Shirt from last season and they are fantastic. I will be returning the 3 new ones that came in this order. Myself and generations of my family have been REI consumers for 70+ years, I am saddened that they put their name on this product. This has been a recent trend. Please provide quality products, even if you have to keep the prices higher. We expect more from REI.
Cool and Comfortable
I was in the market for a training shirt for my first half marathon and came across this shirt and have absolutely loved it. The material is soft, breathable and lightweight which keeps me cool and comfortable during long runs. It also does a great job of wicking sweat and drying fast.
Cool housekeeper in Bar Harbor Maine!
I'm a traveling motel housekeeper and I like looking neat but need movement freedom. This shirt nails it. I'm 5/6.5, and 140. I purchased size M, in multiple colors and like them all. They washed perfectly and I hung them on a hanger to dry. Of the 4 I purchased 2 will be for work and the others for adventure. I'm wearing them with skorts. I work hard and found these shirts kept me cool. Another thing I like is the ability to roll up the sleeve. I like the look. I'm confident they'll be great for hiking and biking. Dry, lightweight layering tee for humid days
This shirt is so comfortable on a spring warm day, hiking in Florida. It’s lightweight and breathable, you hardly realize you’re wearing it. The color is muted and doesn’t stand out too much. You can match it easily with other clothing.
Shorter and narrower than the original
I had one of these tshirts and it was my go-to when I went hiking for a week in Yosemite. This one is shorter with a narrower fit and the fabric is slippery and less cottony feeling. The tshirt slides around and keeps coming untucked. Not great when you are carrying a pack. Love the sunfade clay color though. Either returning or sizing up (and using for other outdoor activities). For reference, I am 5'8", 36B, 140lbs; bought the small and it fits in the shoulders but is too short. Will try the M.
A little tighter than past years, so sweaty!
I have a bunch of L saharas from last year, I feel like this years is a smidge tighter than 2023’s batch. I love the purple color but the sweat shows through so bad and doesn’t dry as quickly as I’d like it to. I might swap it out for the aqua and size up. I don’t think the aqua will be as sweaty looking.
Runs Smaller Than Prior Year
Runs much smaller than previous style; I have 2 other colors from prior year in medium and have been very. happy with those. However, this " redesign" is too tight and also shorter in length; I prefer a hiking tee shirt to be loose to allow airflow. I'm returning to purchase Large. If you like a looser fit, size up on this tee shirt.
quick dry comfy shirt for hiking etc
Soft comfy breathable shirt while hiking and traveling. Felt sweaty spots in armpits then they quickly dried out and left no visible evidence (compared to traditional cotton) Appreciate the soft lightweight feel and silhouette.
